HD not initialising

I installed a hard drive into my computer. It was corrupted at one point, took it out of the cooler thing it was in and now its recognised as its true size and disk management see's it. It says the disk isnt initialised, so i right click and push initialise disk. Nothing happens. Anyone got any idea?

try to reformat it

put the winxp disk in and tried to install xp on it. Created partition and hit install. Pushed Format with NTFS full format. 'Error disk may be damaged or not connected properly yadda yadda yadda'
