Hey guys,

I have had some pretty crummy results with my OCZ PC4000 VX. Yes, it runs its rated speed, but not much more. Stops around 255mhz actually. I need 261mhz in order to run my CPU at its max overclock. It may sound a little silly to quest for 6 more mhz, but ya know :)

So, I was going to try the BH type OCZ UTT. It is the gold 2-2-2-5. So far, the only difference I can see is that it achieves 2-2-2 timings at a lower default voltage. What I am interested in is the TOP END of the overclocking potential. I have a DFI NF4 SLI-D, so I am not worried about voltage. Anyone have experience with these? I can't quite afford the Mushkin Redline.

Hi,

My brand have CH-5 and BH-5 UTT chip, here you can see the max frequency stable with these chip :

You can't do it here! - bachus_anonym

Edit : About OCZ with BH-5, I think that only Gold PC3200 BH-5 have it.

I think it is all luck of the draw, but it does seem like higher results are coming from CH/UTT. (VX and Redline) My VX3200 hits 265 @ 3.6V 100% stable, but my BH-based Gold top at 255. No guaranties anywhere either, my Redline 4000's are comparative dogs too, barely making rated speeds and not much more.

That is how my VX4000 is. I was disappointed to see 5mhz overclocking headroom. I see everyone running 3.6v, but I get MORE errors after 3.4v. Maybe I am doing something wrong!
