Hi,

Well right now I have a 3500claw that does 3.1-3.2ghz, but with MASSIVE voltage (1.85+++)

I can prolly get around $250 for my chip, so lets say with a budget of around $400, what chip could get me highest on phase change? 3700 sandy is what I was currently eyeing, but I dunno....

Thanks

my rec: 3700 sandy or a 3800 venice, good stepping off ebay... but i think even a 3200 or 3500 would work... my 3500 is barely faster than my 3800 (lower batch)

I'm planning on shoting for 3.3ghz on phase on my next build. I'm going with the 3200+ because it should be easy to hit 3.3 with 330*10. and you could probably go as high as 350*10 with a DFI board. Also its cheaper

Expecting 330+ On a CPU Unless you hand pick it is asking quite a bit...

Either keep your 3500+ or buy a 3700+ is what I say

The lower end venices are definitely capable of such high clocks; just look at TheMeatFrog's (stephen's) 3200+ APAW. However, it takes an exceptional chip, so i hope you have already got one lined up or know where you can get a good stepping. It's pretty hard to find week 15 and 17 in retail stores now and even harder online...

Personally i would stick to the 3700+ Sandy. Just do your very best to get a good stepping! If you can't find a good one, consider a 3800+ Venice of a good stepping.
