System is in sig

Which ram to get?

Price matters alot to me, but if the ocz plat rev2 is so much better I'll gladly get it. Will be used for overclocking, for gaming purposes. Timing does not matter to me (3-4-4 is fine or 3-3-3), I just need it to oc my cpu. Will be trying on air to hit 290 * 9 = 2610 mhz

TwinMos Speed Premium 3200 512 sticks (48 per stick, 100 shipped from egg)

OCZ Value VX 512 x 2 (110 shipped from Newegg)

OCZ Platinum Rev2 PC3200 (180 shipped from newegg)

Thanks

All three of you choices are good for the money.

With the Twinmos and Value VX you should be able to do up to 250mhz with tight timmings but will take some higher voltages and good cooling on the ram to keep it from erroring.

My vote would be on the OCZ Rev 2, it should be able to do 290mhz at 2.5-4-3 and won't require much Vdimm to get there maybe 2.8v max

So even with loose timings, BH/CH can't hit 290?

if so I'll definately go for the tccd plat rev2

edit: omg your kids computer is better than my current computer. I'm still gaming in bf2 on this: athlon thunderbird 1.333 89 celcius on load edition, 512 pc2100 ddr, asus a7a266, radeon 9500 pro. lol I wish i had you as a dad.

Since price matters a lot to you and running on dividers with A64 doesn't result in performance loss, I'd definitely go with either the OCZ or Twinmos. I'm actually about to buy either the OCZ or Twinmos as well. Both will probably do about the same, but OCZ has very good customer service. If your OCZ sticks die, you'll have them replaced very quickly. My vote ultimately goes to the OCZ value vx.

dividers doesnt decrease performance? I was told only 1:1 is good for gaming.

yeah, you won't likely get to 290 with low latancy ram however the low latancy makes up for the loss in fsb. Personally I'd go with the TwinMOS Speed Premiums if you have the volts to supply them with. I've been messing around with mine for the last 2 weeks and I've almost got them stable at 260 2-2-2-6. These things are real picky though as they use some weird timings compared to other UTT.

The OCZ value vx and Twinmos SP are mostly now being shipped with the new BH die. These will probably do about 250 at 2-2-2 when you pump a good amount of volts through them. The lower latencies somewhat make up for the lesser frequency. Whereas, you won't get past ~275 w/ El plat r2 at anything better than 2.5-3-3.

so which one is better for gaming? It will also be left on alot, like 24/7, so which is better?

If you're gonna do 24/7 go with the OCZ TCC5 ram. You could run the other stuff 24/7 also but you're gonna use a bit more electricity doing it.
