The system is for gaming/homework. It will be turned on prolly 24 hours a day for 5 days a week. It will have air cooling XP-90 heatsink with panaflo fan. Not all parts are ordered yet. So far I have Sonata II case, which gives me the Antec Smartpower 2.0 450w single fan.
What my projected build is atm: (not ordered yet)
AMD Athlon 64 Venice 3000 or 3200 (need help choosing)
Thermalright XP-90 headsink with panaflo H1b fan.
DFI UT Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D (Might possibly wait for crossfire edition, but they oc the same way so cpu/ram choice would remain same)
1 GB (2x 512) Kit of DDR400 PC3200 DDR SDRam. (need help choosing)
Connect3D Radeon X800XL 256mb
First choice is venice 3000 or venice 3200. I heard for 3000, only week 15/17 can overclock. so I'll most likely get the 3200. With the xp-90 hsf, I'm trying to hit 2.7 to 2.8 ghz. Another question is, assuming I get lucky have have week15/17 venice 3000, how will it's max oc compare to 3200 max oc?
The more important choice is on ram. I can't afford the expensive ones, I am looking for a 1gig kit pc3200. I heard there are value rams that actually come with UTT CH/BH-5 chips or TCCD chips. But for dfi, with newest bios, what ram would you guys suggest? I don't really wish to spend more than $ 120-130 on ram, I just need it to be able to oc my cpu to 2.7-2.8 ghz. I don't do any benchmarking at all so timings don't matter too much.
I was suggested 2x twinmos pc3200 with p/n tmsp400 or the OCZ Value VX, and some also suggested trying mushkin value ram. Do these still come with BH/CH-5? And I read BH lasts longer, but TCCD is best for gaming due to lower volts required. Too bad TCCD are expensive
Thanks
