I had pre-orderd a set last week from Monarch and they said it would ship on 6-14.. I didnt get any shipping info over the last 2 days so i guess ill never get a set. Bums me out. I PMd tony last week asking if they still made it and i never received a reply.

Ok i just talked to Joe at monarch. The cut off for pre-order i believe was the 11th of june.. He told me that all of the orders have been fulfilled and that the ram should arrive today and ship out this evening for anyone who ordered through them. The ram is EOL btw, monarch is the last order from OCZ for this PC5000.

I saw the EOL before i pre-ordered last week but took a chance, looks like it paid off for once. :toast:

i wouldn't have been so happy, the cut is not without a reason

Well theres always reason.. The EB series didnt last long.. I think the PC5000 may have lived just as long as those. I think were fortunate that they made this kind of ram for the limited time they did.

It was a limited time-only ram to begin with. This should be no surprise to you people.

The main reason is because the new AMD CPUs can't overclock far enough to utilize the specified memory frequency of the memory. This ended up meaning that any user buying new AMD CPUs would find out that they can't achieve the spec of the memory on their system.

How about dropping mult??
My 3200+ gets 450+ of HTT, with 5x or 6x mult and a divisor on the ram, so I think that this story of "can´t achieve the specs of the memory" sounds flase IMO...

Venice has a changed memory controller that prefers BH/CH ram compared to TCCD. I canot reach the same FSB with my G.Skills on a Venice as with a Winchester, though BH5 does great!

Same thing happened with OCZ pc6400 ddr2 on newegg. There's some wierd thing of a lot of OCZ ram getting dropped...
