Okay guys, need your help. We're starting to post reviews on the front page again, and we have a lot of stuff rolling. We need some hi-tech, slick looking awards. Post your suggestions, and if we choose one you've designed, we'll have something very special for you. :)

Like most sites have a little award picture to show a good product. for instance, drive heavens heavny hardware award. If you could leave space for the title of the award to be added later and just design a basic template that would be great. maybe a bronze, silver and gold version would work well.

very cool. I like it for cooling reviews. most deffinetly cool. But i see one problem. the contrast between the text of the top line and the background is not enough. could you possibly change the color of the text to make it show up better.

Lol as usual i was too lasy to save all the files and i just made it a simple
jpg at the end...so i cant change it so quickly now but anyway if you want
somthing like this i will do a completely new picture and there is absolutely
no problem to change the colour to whatever you want or make a outline etc...

( i thought i just make proposals so i did not save the file with all layers...)

Get the GIMP working, it's vastly superior to FIreworks and Photoshop :) A big learning curve though.

GIMP is better, Photoshop is just easier to learn. If you had any patience, and sat down, took the time to learn GIMP and it's many thousand plugins (I currently have way more than 200 plugins), you would realise that it is a superior program. And please don't say "If you get GIMPshop, it will be better and look like Photoshop", then I can safely label you an idiot (no offense). GIMPshop ruins the program, plus it uses an outofdate version of GIMP. Photoshop has some handy features, all of which can be replicated in GIMP if you learn which commands are used, then you can create a handy script to do them all seamlessly. And why shouldn't I say that GIMP is better, because it is free?

MoP, thx for your help, though now you're just plain flamebaiting ;) I'll give GIMP a try...maybe buy a book or two on it...but I WOULD prefer to buy something with a GUI that I'm accustomed to in Fireworks and photoshop.

If you had any patience, and sat down, took the time to learn GIMP and it's many thousand plugins (I currently have way more than 200 plugins), you would realise that it is a superior program plugins are cheating, i am a photomanipulist, and the only filter i use is gaussian blur. if gimp had anything over photoshop it would be the massive filter and plugins that you could get. but i dont use filters so PHOTOSHOP ALL THE WAAY :D btw im eddie nice to meet you

I think that it's important to keep lettering "XS" as well as word "xtremesystems.org". Looking really good. I'm leaning towards #48 :) Just make gold and bronze...

johny #50 is my fav. the first of the two pics. maybe put the Title of the award at the top or bottom of the picture. not in teh seal itself but below it in some cool text.

But before you do that we just need to come up with a title for the awards.

Any suggestions for the titles? gold, silver and bronze seems kinda dull.. someting with more pazzaz is needed.

I think only having three to choose from is inadequate. Five would be good, as in 5 out of 5. I like the concept of 1/5, 2/5, 3/5, 4/5, and XTREME.

1/5 - Not recommended
2/5 - Needs improvement
3/5 - Average
4/5 - Above average; highly recommended
XTREME - This is God's gift to the OC community; this is The One

Some indigo blue as an LCD backlighting would add a nice effect to the monochrome finish. I like your style, JohnyKnoxville.

3 Levels: Gold, Silver, Bronze - thought not necessarily named so.
Add a rating, such as 9.5 to the award for further clarification.

From the reviews posted so far, it seems like a 5-star system is being used. So I would guess 4/5 = Bronze, 4.5/5 = Silver, 5/5 = Gold ?

That was on purpose, it is part of the design, the S is basically looking at the LCD Screen Warning saying tisk tisk. The warning is symbolic for this product stinks.:nono:

4 = 4/5 = Silver
3 = 3/5 = Bronze
2 = 2/5 = Some other colour..maybe black or white
1 = 1/5 = again another colour like black or white.

Oh I know :) I just hope in future design requests/contests the wants/desires/what you're looking for is clearly laid out ... things such as mobo boxes and bleeding edge look would've helped us all immensely in creating what XS wants :) ... [I do understand Kazoo is a busy mod though ;) and quick and simple is the way to go]
