heres a googled translation

this means higher prices for all electronics parts since they are expensive to recycle. really lame since hardware is already a lot more expensive in europe than elsewhere, but its good to see its getting recycled afterwards and not shipped to some african yunkyard polluting the drinking water or anything :)

a similar law for car manufacturers passed some years ago that they have to recycle all parts of their cars, and it hasnt really increased prices a lot... so i hope this law wont increase prices too much either.

An example from Denmark.

A sony 23 screen
In Danish Kr.
In denmark it'll cost you 14000, in US it's 8500.
That's 5500 Danish Kr. cheaper in US, WOOOOT.

look at the bright side..
you want a car? go to the dealers who have to "dispose " of the car and offer him peanuts.. eg 1 euro.
and tell him hes better off giving the car to you for one euro than to "dispose" of the car and so costing him ..i dunno a lot more than a single euro.

same applies to computer parts as sayya is saying.. cheap second hand stuff.
bust a capacitor? or need any spare.. just go to a comp store and buy one they gotta get rid of for peanuts..

the philosophy: always see the advantage even in the face of adversity.
