What size bolts do GPUs use for waterblocks? I forgot sry, and couldn't find it anywhere. Is it 3MM? This is specifically for a 9700 and Maze 3, but i'm pretty sure most are the same.

on the 9700 4-40 works fine. i modded my volcano 7 and that is what i used. it is also what the maze4 gpu uses.

I'm almost certain that 3mm is to big, the large ones for maze 4(the ones for Ati) is about 1-1,5mm..

4-40 is slightly smaller than M3 thread, but M3 will fit prfectly though the holes in my 9800pro and my X800XTPE.

As for what dangerden are using, its probably 4-40.

If you need to buy these bolts in the UK or europe it might be a bit awquard.

When I had a US built model car I had to buy replacement bolts from the manufacturer as titanium bolts were only avalalbe in metric sizes from my supplier.

A model shop may be a good place to source imperial bolts, if a little expensive.

holst which RC car uses titanium bolts? for the most part the bolts arnt even high grade steel. Though one time i swicthed out my screws for grade 12 screws.. damn those things were great. sheared an aluminum bulkhead off the car and the screw wasnt even bent.

3mm is fine, 4mm is fine for ATI but not for the 6X00 series of GPUs, they all have to be drilled out very slightly if you want to used 4mm bolts.

I use titanium on all the screws on my shumacher cat3000.

The stock steel was poor quality and would shear off under heavy impact.

Plus weight saving is worth something.

The screws on my RC10B4 team are stock as Associated use a higher quality steel. Probably because chumacher are cheapscates using sub standard screws to save 50p per chassis.

The standard ISO bolt is M3x30, M3x40, ... (example: 3mm coil, 40mm lenght). I use M3 on my R9x00 series.
