Well you did say "best." What exactly is your price range and what will this PSU be powering?

As "KoolDrew" said the PC P&C's are the best, the next best are the OCZ PowerStreams. :fact:

The OCZ PowerStream 520W, which is used by Anandtech for their SLI testing,
can be had for about $125. :toast:

Well what system are you looking to power with this new PSU? There are many good PSU's available that are really cheap.

Forton 530w is the best psu for the price IMO. You have pots to raise the 12v, 5v, 3.3v

i think powerstream is the best for what i want to power

I have asked you twice already to tell me what you plan on powering with this PSU. If you want help can you please just post your specs? We can't help you if tou don't give us the information we need.

Forton 530w is the best psu for the price IMO. You have pots to raise the 12v, 5v, 3.3vYou are sooo wrong. :slapass: It is an older design with only +12V@18A. :fact:
There is NO REASON to buy this out-dated PSU. :nono:

Now the Fortron Blue Storm 500W is fine for non-SLI & the EPS 550W can power just about anything.
You can get the Blue Storm for about $70 & the EPS for about $80. :toast:

Zippy is very good but not the best, for a good but cheap look into the Enermax 535w lots of power and very cheap.

Get a 420w powerstream, or if you dont have enough even a modstream.

figgles

are modsteams modular?

OCZ's are pretty good from what I've read, the minuses are the relatively short/stiff rails.

i think ill get a powersteam when i can afford one. they seem the most sensible option

If you are on a budget this should be good.

18 posts in a thread about which psu and someone has yet to ask him his price range ???

Figgles, do elaborate on your price range. And while you're at it, get some volts on that ram... it can reach 240 on some good sticks at 2-3-3-7...But even at 225, I'd use a different divider to get that fsb up higher.

I asked him his price range, but he didn't answer me...

He is also holding off on the ocing until he gets a new PSU.

http://www.costcentral.com/proddetail/Antec_SmartPower_20_SP_500/SP500/F09966/The new Antec SP2 500W for $67.14 would be excellent &
the Fortron Blue Storm 500W for $72 & Free Shipping would be fine for your system also.

Out-dated?
I still have the 530W, and it's still one of the best out there. Can't beat it for that price/performance.

It powered my P4 2.8 @ 3.7Ghz, 6 HD's, 3 optical drives, 3 x 120mm and 4 x80 mm fans without sweating. Solid as a rock.
One of the best I ever had.

One of the best I ever had.I'm glad it works for you, however it is out-dated, with only +12V@18A :fact: & can NOT be recommended any more.

If you love Fortron & I do, then the Blue Storm 500W @$72 for non-SLI &
the EPS 550W @$79 for just about anything including SLI, are the way to go. :toast:

What do you mean whats going on? I agree it is a very good PSU. I find myself recommending it very often as a budget SLI PSU.

im at max volts for my ram and pretty nervous about pushing anything harder than it is until i can get a powerstream cuz my i-cute only has 18a on the 12v rail :(

not that im a fanboy but i have found antec psu's to be amazing, it powered my pc that had and SLI setup and 3 hd's w/o a hickup. ive heard good things about the ocz PSU's as well but those seem quite pricy.

I agree, antec for now definately has the best bang for the buck.

I agree, antec for now definately has the best bang for the buck.Yes, right now new egg has the Antec True Power II 550W for only $89,
about 1/2 the price of the next cheapest SLI Certified PSU. :woot:
