i need a fully submersible pump. performance does not matter (though high flow/decent pressure would be nice). must be DC. this isn't for watercooling, but i figured this was a good place to ask :)

Check the boat sites. Get a bilge pump. I have one that kicks ass, and has a safety shut-off for when the water gets too low.

it's for a special project of mine... :)
I was hoping that maybe someone on here knew of one, but ah well. DDC and D4/5 aren't submersible, right? is that just because of the electronic components or...?

I'm telling you they make a small 4" x 2" pump that pumps huge amounts of fluid and at a good head.

But is it a 12V DC pump?

Yeah of course, hence the Bilge pump deal click (http://www.rule-industries.com/prodInfoApp/servlet/DisplayItemDetail?itemId=25S&companyId=RULE&catalogId=Marine&categoryId=BILGE&typeId=RATBP)

The pump I have looks exactly like the one in the pic, but mine is a 360GPH pump. It is only 3.5" x 2". Automatic
