I found the Hiper Type-R PSU, and it looks absolutely killer. I read a review on it (http://www.xtremeresources.com/modu...owcontent&id=78) and it is one of the best reviews I have ever read! The person cannot find a single con to this PSU! I want it, but have been unable to find it on any sites in the states. Few questions:

Whos heard of it?
Who has used it? If so, how good is it?

And last...

Where the hell can i buy it in the states?!

Look at those connectors... LOOK AT 'EM! THEY'RE INSANE CRAZY COOL LOOKING!

Hiper makes great PSU's ;) It is a nice looking PSU too. I am also curious as to where you can buy these.

KoolDrew, where do you hail from? I know someone with the same handle elsewhere, I wonder if it is you.

I'm really glad that they make good PSU's, because I made up my mind that I am going to buy this as soon as I find it. I have found it on a few UK sites, but I'm not sure they will ship to me without charging me my firstborn child. :slapass:

FrozenCPU has them, but they are too expensive.

The OCZ PowerStream 520W, Antec True Power II 550W, Enermax 535W are all cheaper & better. :fact:

It is a killer psu. I bought it for my bench ring.
Take a look here. http://www.thelab.gr/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16417

I emailed Hiper, and they dont have any retailers in the US. FrozenCPU and the other sites just bought a bunch of them and are selling them, I dont even think they are making a profit. If they are, it is miniscule. When Hiper officially has a reseller out here in the states, the PSU's will be much cheaper.

Interesting, i wonder why they'd do that, i mean there's plenty of other modular psu's available.

New PSU, Europe based company, new company. They have to feel out their own native market and dominate in that before they can consider having an overseas reseller.

Got one (580 R-type) and its working out nicely, no problems at all. Looks great, but the best part is the lack of noise!

i'm considering getting one of these instead of a replacement tagan, because I had such a hard
time getting the tagan in my case with all those wires i didnt need... but has it got dual 12v rails
and what ampage can it supply on the 12v the tagan could supply 32A which was what attracted
me to it also the Type-R is £10 cheaper with an extra 50w.
any thoughts appreciated, Ed

I've got one of these (being in the UK) where they are one of the cheapest, better PSU's you can buy. The Type-R is about £45 here which I suppose eqautes to about $80? Is that good for the US? Then again, Tagans, Enermaxes and OCZ's all cost at least £65 here so the saving is dramatic.

Rails are as follows on my 480W: 3.3: 28A, 5:32A (combined 240W), 12V-1:18A, 12V-2:16A (combined 350W). It has a split 24pin breakaway for use with both mobo types too. Mine's the silver one - basically like a FSP Blue Storm, all in silver.
