I am having a problem with CPU-Z not reading my CPU right...I have a AMD-64 3800+ in my laptop and it is reading as 200x5.0. When I do a SiSoft CPU Bench it scores Here is a screen of it...I am just wondering this being a laptop and Compaq maybe throwing this :banana::banana::banana: off...or something.

I am sorry if this post is in the wrong section...

I think some kind of speedstep is enabled.

A64 have the " cool n quiet " option, it lowers the mhz's if you're idling ;)

// and this does not belong in extreme overclocking :p

Not Xtreme Overclocking.

But i bet its thermal throttling.

It´s a cool & quiet feature.
CPU frequency (multiplier) is dropped to minimize power consumption and heat dissipation.

Yeah is that...When I ran the test...i watched CPU-Z..

But It only reaches 200x11.0 Why is it not hitting 200x12.0 like it should...the BIOS reads it right...

Or by chance is there a BIOS that someone has made out there for a R4000 series.

I am also running off a battery right now. I am not sure if that makes a difference.

Now I have also noticed something..the CPU is only hitting 2.2 not 2.4 when i watch CPU-Z as I do a CPU test or something...

Also is there a way to disable Thermal Throttling on a laptop...?
