Anyone experienced this problem? My San Diego wont run stable with 2x512 tccd440 @ >300 - 2.5-4-3-6. Tried almost all DFI u-d bios.

strange my 3500+ CAA2C clawhammer and 4000+ san diego 0515 SPMW runs my 2x 512MB PC4400LE 431 at 300mhz 2.5-4-3-7 1T but my 3200+ Venice 0518 APDW won't do that at all

eva, I run with fx55 sd and 4800LA, funny thing is it stable @ 240/2-2-2-5 @3.1V. With 55 claw it can scale to 339 bench stable.

Dumo,

We talking bout your SD FX here? (edit: you got that post in before me)

I've only tried 300mhz on the 10 multi so far because I was looking for 3G (doesn't look like the FX will do it by the way :( ), but if you want I will drop the multi and try it to see.

@madpete, yep, 55BN. What bios you run with?

510-3, but tried the old 310 and 316 too.

It will do 297mhz on 10 multi at the min, it also seems real picky about how you set the voltage in the bios. For example it likes 1.4v to be set as the vcore, and then the % special on top of that, if i change it from 1.4v upto 1.425v or above (even leaving the special the same) its not as stable.

Did you see the thread about leaving the LDT multi to auto in the bios for higher volts too by the way? That does seem to work for some reason.

Dumo,

Can I ask you what sort of temps your getting from your FX? Mine seems to run a little hotter than i'd like, esp compaired to the Venice and SD 4000+ I tested.

At default volts the bios / smart guardian reports the CPU at around 35 degrees, on load that goes to around 42. With Venice and SD (non FX) I could put around 1.65-1.68v through the chip and my temp would be around the same. At first i thought it might be a bad contact so i reseated the waterblock but it made no differance.

Do you see similar results?

tried disabling bank interleave yet ?Tried and still unstable.
@ madpete, I run with Vapo LS and it has an easy time with 55BN because of less load than 55claw.

Don't know about you guys but I can't run my TwinX set of PC4400 TCCD over 265MHz
together on my DFI even with different processors. 310MHz with just one stick. Hmm?

Any suggestions on a 1GB set of ram capable of DDR640+ @ CAS 2.5 on my setup?
If that's even possible...my Venice walls right under 2.9GHz using dividers so I could easily make use. (9x322)

SD have this problem too? I thought my venice don't like TCCD only...however, it sing along with bh-5 very well....

Heh...I recently found out why...it's all about the DRAM and DRAM Data Drive Strength settings.
My Venice and TCCD were like oil and water until I changed those settings to Level 1 and Level 3.

Anyway...you might want to try those drive strength settings (weak is good for tccd, experiment with the lower
odd numbers) and set your TCCD up like this, you can always tighten timings after you reach your MHz goal.

Hey Dumo,

Just had a thought, on my system the SD's (FX and 4000+) when ussed with MY OCZ TCCD hate high VDIMM (anything above 2.8 - 2.85v). Not sure what your at, but if its real high try backing off a little (I only need 2.7v to do over 300mhz now).

I never had this with my Winchester, or Venice....just thought I'd mention it.

yeah on my venice drive strength = 3 and drive data strength = 1 was where TCCD ram started getting stable for me as well

I have the same problem with my FX55BN and GSKILL LE TCCD440... :(
is what you solved your problem?
