View Full Version : Guys can u help me out? Blew something up

Ok so i thought i would but a quieter fan in my PlayStation 2 but maybe connected them to a wrong spot and CABOOM right infront of me eyes... ears still whispering :S No burned marks whatsoever besides the fan i was connecting to it.
Now the problem is there is no power :( what should i fix??

yeah, booms and pops usaully mean the psu is toast

The PSU Has a fuse on it if you know where to look. Scrounge around it for a bit and you could prolly find it.. Although a noise that made your ears ring dosent sound too good fer yer system. Could have been summin else that fried.

Capacitors can go boom. Pops usually come from over currenting in some chip.

check for internal fuse in PSU...that's how i just fixed my tagan today...shorted it and big sparks blah de blah...but i managed to fix it...

Nah, there will only be one. Once the "critical" bridge (The one that will pop if something would) is broken current isn't going to go though the chip.

The power cable died :D bought a new one for free :D all fine

Change fuse and it should work again maybe.

i fried a AMD 2100+ once. dumb :banana: :banana: :banana: me thought i had the heatsink on it. after i turned it on and smell something odd i looked at the cpu and could hear a little crackle noise. by then it was too late. RMA'ed it though. I even told the guy on the phone what i did and he said "i don't care" and sent me a new one. :D
