I am building a new rig soon and since I am on a budget I was thinking of just using onboard sound (DFI NF4), but I came across this.

From Anandtech it seems it is a good card, but is it even worth it over onboard sound. I am planning on getting these speakers.

This will be for a gaming machine.

for that speaker that sound card won't do any good.... use ur onboard sound for now and save up for a better sound card......

i doubt that $25 soundcard will do a hell lot better than ur onboard...

The speaker is fine  I find Logitech's speakers better than Creative's.

Well, the Chaintech quite a good soundcard for it's price. But go for another if you are going for 5.1 speakers.
The included Wolfson DAC (24 bit/192 KHz) is only for 2 channels, and the other 6ch to get 7.1 are managed by an AC97 codec (VIA Vinyl VT1616).

And if you are looking for good EAX support for your games, go for a Creative.
