Windows Scanning at Boot

Well whenever i boot up into windows, it comes up with the scan disk thing on the blue screen saying that i need to scan the drive, it is recommended that you scan it. Everytime i boot the PC it says that. Is there anyway to turn it off? I've had trouble with this for ages and it's annoying me cos i have to sit there and press enter to cancel the scanning.

Is there a fix?

if so upgrade to xp please
and your hd is on the edge...................
