Help With a PSU For a New Build

I posted this in another forum and nobody seemed to want to help so, this is my first post in this forum.

Im getting ready to build a new computer. It seems that Abit suggests on an AV8 that the PSU have a minimum of 22 amps on the +12 volt rail. My old Antec 400 has only 18 amps so it will probably not be enough. Specs on the new computer is as follows:

Abit AV8
AMD Winchester 3200
1 gig Crucial 3200 (2x512)
BFG 6800OC (AGP)
Audigy Sound Card
120 gig Seagate HD
3 Fans
DVD drive

Nothing fancy. It wont be overclocked. Just a basic game machine. I am looking at this PSU from ZipZoomfly.

I want something that will last me a while. I dont forsee any SLI in the future.
I would appreciate any suggestions are advice you all could give me.

The Antec Smart Power II 500W should be more than enough.

22A on the +12v would probably be fine, but I would try to get at least +12v@24A for a single video card system.

Forgive me for asking but on the antec 500 it says that 12v1= 17A and the 12v2= 19A. Wouldnt this be a 36v on the 12v rail? Or am I looking at something wrong.

grayI wish! Those are the max per rail, the combined max +12V isn't stated but is probably about 26A.

Well I went ahead an ordered the Antec SP-500 from Zipzoomfly. Thanks for all the help and advice

however the Fortron EPS 550W is a good bit more powerful. :fact:

I have a Tagan 480W TG480-U22, is stable, powerfull, supersilent and not expensive. If you are not looking for the best (but still doing excelent) i would recommend it.

12v1: 20A / 12v2: 20A (30A combined)

My readings @ 2620Mhz: 11.96v, 5.02v, 3.32v

Im actually not using a gamer videocard ;) , but voltages will keep doing good.
