i dont fully understand. do you want 1gb ram or 2gb ram? if its 1gb you want then how about 2x512mb mushkin redline or 2x512mb g.skills tccd? check perkam's guide and see what you like best. the rams that i recommended were taken from his extreme rig recommendations. beware, these choices cost a lot.

i found some muskin

1 GB (2x 512 MB) PC4000/DDR500 DDR DIMM CL2-2-2 Redline - Mushkin Dual Kit

for 220 € timings are 2-2-2-6-1T at 250 mhz ... sounds good .. and the price is ok ( a bit expensiv but ok )

think i will take them .. now 1 gig and maybe in september another gig ..

i just wanted suggestions for good ram! 1 gig or 2 doesnt matter ..

but i think i found my ram now .. they look pretty nice :)

btw i heard that there are problems when i use 4*512 with some mainboards with overclocking ... is that true?

i mean ... if you use 2*512 no problem with OC
but a guy told me that i wont be able to go faster than 200 mhz when i use 4*512

can someone tell me something for that or show me a link?

I've heard the same and am curious about this just like you. Anyone have any information about this?

It is because there are a lot more chips to control, and send data to, so the timings slow, and the CPU memory controller cannot function as well, so your timings go from 1T to 2T. With the speed loss, it makes OCing hard, and it does not work as well.
A rumor I heard was that the San Diego cores will/may make OCing with that many modules work better.

Good luck, my setup is similar to yours. Also, an idea, G.Skill is great for OCing.

Don't go 4x512mb. I was looking around the forums after posting, and I saw this guy who couldn't even boot with 4x512mb RAM on his Venice, so I wouldn't risk it.

and i read that the memory controller of the san diego should have no problem with that anymore ... but hmm

if the memory runs with 250 MHz ... so no oc.. only at their normal speed with the normal timings then i am happy .. it will be 50 Mhz faster than its normal and i think i should get high performance ..

and i hadnt an idea what to google for that problem .. it was hard... and 1 forum i was told that it should be a problem anymore ... but who knows for 100%

Yeah, that is what I heard, read, and I think I said that up a little. I hope it is correct, because when two GB's of RAM become really useful, I want to be able to throw in another two sticks of what I have, not have to get completely new stuff.

Mushkin Redline seems to be the best.

but will i have perfomermance loses when i get 4*512? or is the mem controller able to get it on 2-2-2-6-1T at 250mhz

The problem is that it go from 1T to 2T.
