All of them are crap. I think your last 400w crapped out on you because it was also a POS PSU and it had nothing to do with the wattage.

The ONLY PSU I can recommend under $30 is this Super-Flower 350W PS (http://www.directron.com/sf350stainless.html). I don't know if that would be enough for your system though. I highly recommend spending $70+ for a good quality PSU.

Yes. I did say all of them. Powmax is known for making bad PSU's and are definitely not recommended. Don't go by neweggs reviews if that is what you were going by.

I'd save up at least $70 before getting a new one.

link works for me as well... hmmm id go for a frotron 530W i think... or save money and go for an ocz powerstream :DThe Fortron 530 is an older design with only +12V@18A.

Now this Fortron is excellent: http://www.fsp-group.com.tw/english/02_products/01_pc_power_supply.asp?modelid=33&modelname=FSP550-60PLN&factorname=EPS12V

Directron has them for only $79, but they have the specs wrong.

http://www.directron.com/fsp55060pln.html

Of course the OCZ PowerStream 520W or 600W would be better. :toast:

Hey Nemo,

I've looked around a tad bit, and this is the cheapest Good psu i could find: http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=M&Product_Code=100932&Category_Code=ps-300

Check that one out. Hope that helps. And dont worry about its wattage, its actually very stable and reliable.

Powmax makes terrible PSU's. I just posted a list of recommended PSU's. I also said in my first post all the PSU's that you posted were junk. This includes Powmax.

i found nemo - If there is any way for you to hold off on making a purchase until you have saved up a little bit more money, I would do just that. In my opinion, the PSU is the most important component in your system. This is especially true if you are an overclocker since the power requirements are much greater when you are running your hardware out of spec.

Recycle aluminum cans and old newspaper, beg for spare change in front of liquor stores, sell some old items on ebay. Just save up for a little bit longer or you just might find your way back here in a few months asking for advise on another PSU. ;)

KoolDrew

You also just made a topic about your other PSU dieing. You definitely do not want that to happen again. This time you may not be as lucky and you may wreck some of your components.

Dual rails help with stability, there operation is inviviable to the user.

This Enermax was recommended above & is as close to $50 out-the-door as you are going to get.

No. Powerstreams are out of your price range. Look at the guide Dave linked to. Any PSU in there would be great. Just pick which one looks best to you and would run all of your components.
