There is an old saying that goes something like this: "If you have never fallen off a horse.....you have not ridden very much."

A fried cpu is not proof of inexperience...it may just be proof of experience.:D So don't be ashamed if you cooked a few...I have!

1 cyrix pr150
1 cyrix pr200 MX
1 amd k6-2 400
1 p2 celeron 366
1 p3 celeron 566
2 duron 700's
1 athlon 900
1 duron 1.1
3 tbird 1.4's
1 xp1500+
1 xp1900+
1 xp2000+

I used to have a sick temper when it came to overclocks. Most of these chips died from being removed re-installed and getting chipped in the process. The cyrix's sucked so i maxed the voltage and let my pc run till it died.

There was a fried hardware list thread on here before but I can't find it.... If I find it I'll post up my list...

off the top of my head.. I've fried MANY more motherboards than processors.

700 duron
1.2 tbird
1.33 tbird
1800+
2200+

EDIT: I found it http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3142

I've tweak it till it broke and it broke so now i'm without a comp waiting for a new cpu to arrive (i fried 1 TBird and 1 1600+ in less than 3days)

I have never fried a chip, I am really careful with them.

I feel like I'm not really hardcore because of this, I think I may have to make a few keychains out of my 486's and pentium 200's, although I will feel bad about it because they all still work.

I haven't even had a chip fail on me! lol

Well, thought I could update my latest here, I've fried 1 - xp1600 by unlocking too many times, every time I changes the bridges and got it o/ced a little more, I would run it that way for a while then it was back to trying for more. Guess greed took that one down, by the time I was done with it, there was about a 3/16th inch exposed copper grounding plate around the bridges:rolleyes:

Had a psu go out about two weeks ago, it sent a surge through the tbird 900 and baked it to the aluminum hsf, also took out the hdd, and a stick of ram. When I pulled the hsf off the proc, the hsf was so discolored I had to lap almost a 1/16th of an inch off it to get rid of all the burnt effects:(
