I'm really tight on the budget. Seing newer Venices not clocking well made me think. I'm sick of my GEIL w\ Hynix D43 chips (2.5-4-4-8, crap). I don't want to spend any more than $180. $40 w\ shipping for DRR booster and what memory? I can throw even 3.7v on sticks, no problem. I thought about Mushkin Redline, but nah, they cost to much and have heatspreaders. Same thing with OCZ VX PC3200\PC4000 Gold. OCZ value Ram got me to think. $105 for 1GB + Winbond UTT chips http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820227213 . Will they do DRR520@2-2-2-7 latencies with at least 3.5v?

Somebody help me out :)

260MHz with 2-2-2 timings is asking a lot from the Value VX modules. Gambling with a pair will be the only definite way to find out. I would, at the very least, try to save a little bit more money for their PC-3200 VX. Otherwise, keep an eye out for used modules. ;)

Thanks for reply. Sorry for posting in wrong forum. OCZ PC3200 VX looks good. But, will they be able to reach such speed on Neo2 Plat.? Keeping in mind that those boards don't have as rich BIOS settings for RAM as DFIs. And if anybody know, do G.SKILL PC3200 w\ Winbond UTT (2-2-2-5) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820231013 work better on Neo2 Plat. than OCZ's VX? (not value ones)

It's all going to boil down to your luck. When the PC-3200 VX was first released, there was a good number of us pushing well over 250MHz at 2-2-2 timings. This is an old screenshot of my Newcastle 3500+/K8N Neo2 Platinum/VX PC-3200 at 24/7 settings. I eventually ran 266MHz 2-2-2 24/7 stable but never bothered to capture a shot of that:

Of course, your mileage may vary. ;)

With regard to the G.Skill GH, there's a thread in Xtreme Bandwidth that focuses on these modules. If you haven't stumbled across it yet, it's a good read (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=62006). :)
