Seems to be a new critical security flaw in firefox ... sigh ... no fix as of yet. Mozilla says 1.0.4 to fix this is comming soon.

Meh, I am using trunk (1.1 beta) so this bug won't effect me. People who use official release builds are either uninformed or think that a beta release automaticly means uselessly buggy. The 1.0.x releases are terrible not only for speed, but for security. 1.1 will be much better :)

i wish Mozilla would use patches instead of a whole new install to fix these flaws, i had to move away from firefox becuase of all of the security problems.

are you using the tweaks? The tweaks screw everything up and slow everything down.

Concurrent connection tweak is good though

where do you get the 1.1 trunk? All I can find on firefox's page is the latest mozilla trunk. i assume you mean that??

Look on their FTP. Goto firefox/nightly in the pub directory. This contains trunk and aviary (1.0.x betas). Go for the trunk, 2005-04-22. It's one of the fastest trunks that exist, and one of the most recent, and stable ones.

ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/

Just noticed, they don't have 2005-04-22-trunk in the FTP server anymore.. you will need to CVS it and compile it yourself, if it isn't in their FTP.

...and how do you do this since it is not in their FTP?

Get CVS client, Cygwin + development libraries for it + GCC for it, and the source ;) There are instructions on mozilla.org :P
