My download speed tops out at 4.4 mb/s.
My upload speed tops out at 384 k/s.

so why do i only get 37 k upload in winmx music share server? Why not 40k? Why not 50k? Even if I get 40k i'll shut up... trust me.

What gives....? Is there some special setting need to be changed in winmx software or what? I believe there is nothing wrong with my own cable connection because i have the source that checks out my current download/upload performance and is at optimal. It's much much much faster uploading files in my web space. Should I blame winmx? Is there any fix for this? I just want 40K or more upload in winmx. :stick: that is all.. i don't ask for more :stick:

Is there a software that is *dedicated* for boosting upload speed "only"? I don't want high download speed... it's already way too fast. i don't need no 4.4mb d/l... 1mb d/l is more than enough for me, even a 512k is fine. Is there any way to sacrifice my d/l speed and bump up the u/l ? or is this winmx limitation and nothing i can do about it?

its a service limitation. your download is always far greater than ur upload. to get more upload you have to go through ur service provider.

yes... i know, but a 35~37k upload?? that's way less than 384k upload. I should be getting a "little more" than just 35k don't u think? i don't mind 40k. :(

On a perfect connection you should be getting 48k upload.

384/8 = 48

so i take it 384k is bull shi.t.... the way it really works is to divide by 8 to get a realistic upload numbers??? That's sad!!

Its the difference in bits and bytes ... just like your best download speed would be 550kBYTES/sec.

the service available next level up has 512k upload so that may give me upto 64k realistic upload..

Got it in 1. I would be well chuffed if I had even 384k upload, on ADSL over here we are stuck to 256k and SDSL is too expensive at the moment.
