You're either looking for a budget LCD for gaming or the best LCD for gaming, unfortunately not both. :)

The best right now would probably be the Hitachi CML174 17.4" LCD which has a 16ms response time. It runs roughly $650.

A great thread with tons of info on LCDs can be found here (http://arstechnica.infopop.net/OpenTopic/page?a=tpc&s=50009562&f=67909965&m=4190936913). You can start in between pages 50-55 if you want - I don't think you'll miss much.

How much are you willing to spend?

Hmm, that Hitachi is new one in this low response time series. Is there going to be similar LCD´s from other manufacturers?

Viewsonic has just announced their 16ms model.

There were a bunch of others at COMDEX who announced similar models.
