I have dual 2.4 lv Zeons, on my Asus PC-DL board.

I just completed the vCore mod, and I'm at 1.554 v!
I also changed the my FSB speed to 200mhz.

Everything started right up with the default multi of 18... which gave me a 3.6ghz! I then went into the mb bios to check temperatures.

Essentially, the cpus stayed at 39c-41c, while the VRM (case monitor) started soaring (48c) ! Paranoid that I'd burn something out... i turned off the computer... and this was all under no LOAD. (also strange, CPU1 is 40c, CPU2 is 36c, and both have heatsink and fan... could it be bad thermal conduction on the 1st one?) Oh, and all these values are w/out the computer case. So temp should be lower...

Can anyone tell me what temp the VRM should stay at? Also, is there a way to cool those things? Or for that matter, the CPUs, and M/B 1-3... thanks!

I have a relatively new board, rev 1005, w/ bios 8

ALSO something really annoying.. every since i had this board, about 3 months, I always get the CPU FAN FAILED message... well.. i use 2 coolmaster heatsinks, with Nexus fans, and the fans are plugged into the CPU1 and 2, slots.. so don't know why I'm getting that error... anyone know???

thanks,
EoT

do the fans have rpm sense lines? if so, they may not be spinning enough. just skip the error. 48c is fine, but if you arent comfortable, epoxy a heatsink on it. nice overclock!

remove the gummy crap that passes as TIM on the VRM heatsink and replace it. I also have a 80mm fan blowing on mine. Read this thread http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=50314 if you haven't already.

windows only uses one cpu so that would explain why only one is getting hot

and 48c is low temp less then 120f so thats fine
