MS Money 2004 opening very slowly

Not sure if this is the right forum, but my Money 2004 program all of a sudden takes a hell of a long time to start up. I click to open, and the password box won't show up for 20 seconds or so, when it used to be instant. Any ideas?

This has happened before and I ended up formatting + reinstalling windows to fix it.
