Can someone point me to a good anti-virus software program for Server 2003? Norton 04 and 05 both say they cannot be installed on a server OS. Any ideas?

if you have the money for server 2003, you should have another $75 to spend on server-class antivirus software. each of the antivirus vendors have their own flavor, pick the one you like.

Just picked up McAfee Enterprise 8.0.......the price was right. I figure with the firewall and this with updates, I should be good to go.

Will AVG's Free one work with Server 2003? That's what I use with Win XP here and I like it (because it's free). I will check for myself, but please post your experiences if you have any. Thanks!

Thanks!according to the reference guide, http://free.grisoft.com/softw/70free/doc/avg_free_reference_en_70_10.pdf

AVG Free Edition is intended to protect workstations with the following operating systems: Windows 98, Windows Me, or Windows 2000, and newer. It can also be run on Windows 95 or Windows NT but in this case, the Internet Explorer 5.01 (or higher) installation is required.that implies, "no, avg will not work with windows server 2003."

having used mcafee, norton, trend micro and several other anti virus software programs i'd say kaspersky is the best, it does seem to detect a high number of virii/trojans the others didnt

f-secure
nod32
kaspersky (I have been told that kaspersky leaves tags that slow programs down)
f-secure runs on kaspersky's engine. So thats what i use for real time and on demand. I also use nod32 for a 2nd ondemand scanner.

I am using and love nod32. Must be the best antivirus I ever used.
Thanks

All of the links on the nod32 site are down. Did you get yours from somewhere else, elec999, or will I just have to keep trying that site until I get it?

I'm interested in nod32 more than the other ones because it is supposed to be very "resource friendly", which is something I look for in an anti-virus solution. I don't want my comp to be as slow as if I had a virus just to be protected.
