hey im outfitting my 2400+ aiugb with a slk800 and a thermaltake smartfan2 w/ casemod, what do you think of this? the smartfan looks like its a pretty good fan, that is relatively quiet and does good airflow plus it has a fan speed switch. Does anyone have any recomendations for this? and im just curious, the northbridge on the asus nforce2 gets extremly hot, what are you guys doing to mod the northbridge with? ok thanks

im thinking of getting the crystal orb or the vantec iceberqc for the northbridge. does anyone have any oppinions on the 2? ive heard good things about both...

i like my crystal orb. you've got to take the stupid tt grill off of it though, it blocks way too much airflow.

if you haven't purchased the slk800 yet, i've been hearing some pretty good things about the sk7 as well.

ive decided to not do a chipset cooler, instead im going with a smaller socket a cooler and i will be drilling it to accomidate the chipset sockets. i will definatly be posting pics once its done so all can see, this will work pretty good im sure.

the modded socket 1 cooler could potentially be quieter because it could use a larger diameter fan than the crystal orb or iceberg.

good luck hopefully it works out to your liking.

I dont think to fondly of thermaltake fans. i have had a good number of there fans just flat out die on me. invest in some good fans.. pabst, panaflo, sunon, or sanyo denki. a really good fan is the YS-Tech 80mm adjustible..

BTW did ya win the 2400+ in san jose???

while i don't like the cpu HSF's Tt makes and the fans they sell seem to be overrated power wise, they crystal orb is a decent little cooler for $10.
