I don realy like it either , searching options when you asked for specific brand and model need more work...

that particular site has been up for a while, but now it automatically re-directs you to it! i don't like it at all really.

i know, man. the searching options really do suck.

Search does suck. Like on cases. If you want like say at least 3 5 1/4 bays and you pick 3 on the list...all you get are ones with three not 3+.
New site is kinda too busy, looks more confusing

the new search engine is not accurate. These defninatly are not 6800 ultras http://www2.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp?Submit=GO&Range=1&description=6800+ultra&InnerCata=48

Edit: aaaaaaaah! I can't find anything with this new search engine. It's really annoying. The old engine wans much better. The new layout is better, but who cares if you can't find anything.

I agree, the new search engine sucks. Whoever came up with this new look needs to be :slapass:

I think the whole site sucks now, is there any way to get the old one back? It looks snappy, but then when you actually try and navigate the thing it's hell. And the search is so horrible, not even just that it can't find things, it's just not as customizable, and just generally a chore to use now. Why did they even want to change it? The only thing I can say I like and it's not really better, I just don't hate it like I do the rest is the more vibrant colors.

yeah, I was lookin for a few seagate hard dives yesterday, and the search found some seagate drives, but not nearly all of them, and not the ones I needed. What the hell, newegg.

Also, I noticed that on HD specifications they are lacking some info here and there, for example if a drive has NCQ functionality. Also some even fail to list what time of connection it is(ATA, SATA, SATA 150 etc.)

Lame. :nono:

I'm not sure what everyone's trying to point out about a "new search engine", but as far as I can tell, the general search is exactly the same as it's always been, and only the graphical layout has changed. If you're having trouble finding something, the category-specific criteria searches are, and always have been, much more accurate.

P I T A . Though going there practically every day meant I knew where every thing was, but to the casual visitor, its going to be VERY disconcerting.

Type in TMSP

Type in 6800 ultra

Type in X800 XT

Those searches used to bring exactly what I wanted.

possible good news!

they still run the old version of the site. However, I'm not entirely sure how often it si being updated, if at all. didnt have time to look through for new items.

assuming it gets updated just as often as the new site, i'm gonna stay old school: http://www2.newegg.com/OldVersion

ah, that is good news cause the new egg blows. I'd think it would be the same, just a different.. theme I suppose. I'd think the content is handled the same on each.

HA HA, the old site has the 2-512 dual pack Value 2.5Cas corsair for 88.00.

And the New site has the Value 2-512 dual pack 3.0Cas corsair for 103.00.

Looks like the old site might be better in more ways than one!!

I like the old site 10 times better. The new site looks like some crappy Yahoo store front.

yeah, you can add it to your cart and order and everything. Perhaps we should be keeping a very close eye on the old version, a few great might slip by the beancounters over at the egg.

I think I'll send a link to this thread to the Newegg Customer Service department. See what they have to say - changes may be in the works already.

You can still use the "classic" version. I do.

I think it sucks. Graphically it is a little nicer but the layout and an entire page full of search paramaters are rediculous. I always click the old site version link first thing :slap:

someone should send this Link to someone from their marketing/customer service. if they saw enough people thought they were going down hill maybe they will strive to "be the best" again
