I have the FX55 CAA2C 0511CPMW, I want to know what speeds people are hitting and with what FSB, voltage, also what kind of cooling

With my 0505FPMW, I am running at 2900 (290*10) @ 1.7v. Cooling is in my sig. 38 degrees idle, 48-50 during gaming, and 54 Priming.

I didn't try hard, but mine wouldn't be stable over 2750 at 1.6, max in stock MSI Neo4 bios, watercooled.
oh, week 0905
I just ebayed it...

is it safe to say once the "venice" comes out fx-55's will drop a lot in price, if so how much?

My week 42 topless 55 does a bit over 3000 mhz on water at 300htt-305htt x10

The 90nm 55's will be out very soon. I wonder how high they will clock compared toi the .13's?

There is a screen shot out for the 4000+ 90nm san diego
overclocked it was at 1.45 volts 3300mhz, this might be on vapo though

I posted it on here somewhere

My AAA2C 0435UPAW FX55 could bench 3dmark @ ~2.9G on stock hsf and boot into windows @ 3G. Only had it under phase a few hours before dropping the Venice in, but it was doing 3.2G @ ~1.63 Vcore. Killed it on a DFI SLI-D and now it's on RMA. :(

Hardcoreclocker, I too got the same FX 55 stepping as you from AMD RMA this past week. I have some issues maybe you can help me out. Installed everything and flashed to 414-1 and used 2/25 bios previously. I am using TCCD GSKILL PC4400LE week 0440.

Everything i did in the bios i left default to install windows but i cant reinstall windows or load windows even at stock clocks,i always get BSOD immeaditly. Is this because the memory controller on the FX 55 or is it the ram settings. For some reason if i leave everything on default speeds "AUTO" I get BSODs. I just recently learned that i need to mannually set the settings not to get the BSOD at stock settings , is this true? My gskill week 0438 never had this issue , do you know how i could resolve this?. I will be testing more tonight as i am getting my cpu back today. Also i just went ahead and ordered anotehr set of PC4400 LE to be sure. WHATS THE DEAL :)

Did you run into the same thing

 Hm, if You have fine access to BIOS but no boot into WIN it should be a driver issue.

What CPU do You ran before? Maybe best is here to try a totaly fresh install.

BTW - maybe has nothin' to do with it, but want to tell here also:

When I got my RMA'd board I still have kept the CD and the disk with the drivers from the DOA board. Received new board naked.

Neither the RAID drivers on disk nor the Nvidia NF4 driver on CD worked, both gave me heavy crashes........, so I had to download all I needed and create my own disk and later installed the downloaded drivers from Nvidia page.

Then all was workin' fine.

Im more tempted than you can imagine.. but thats not the way I do things.

Its just not right to wreck a CPU just cause it doesn´t OC the way I want it to.

If something I have dies while im pushing it hard, I put it in my overclocking-is-to-expensive-box ..

I break, I buy .. sort of.

I dont fry components just cause I want a new one. :)

This picture is taken last year.. in february, and its only GFX´s. (several x800´s in it now)

:D Yep - You're a honest guy, but killing that much GPUs on a "honest" way should have given You the experience how to do it with the FX.... :p:

No - I'm jokin', to get back serious I clearly understand Your point.

Some time ago I did it "half-honest" - the second FX I bought was a bad clocker and I just returned it to the reseller within the refund time......, opened the box very carefully with a razor blade downsides without damaging the seal.

Looked like new and unused........

I've a CAA2C 0444EPMW, do:
2.8GHz (200x14) stock volts and cooling.
3GHz (200x15) 1.525V + air cooling.
3.2GHz (200x16) 1.7V + chiller
3.3GHz (200x16.5) 1.8V + chiller

I suppose that the memory controller doesn't like subzero temps, more than 215HTT is unstable. However with XP-120 + NF4 Ultra-D I can run 270HTT 2-2-2-6 with BH-5 and 333HTT 2.5-4-4-8 CPC ON with 440 TCCD.

:D Me too - no matter what BIOS I could't get a stable HTT 1:1 in the 335 range which I'd need for the multi 10.

But the board loves BH-5 with the 331-1 BIOS - I use CORSAIR 3200LL Platinum v1.1 / 2x256 MB.

My load temps 48c 4 hours of prime later and by reading this I see some guys going ove 1.7 volts and load tems over 55c. Is that safe or where should my cpu temp limit be?
