Just an idea, how about set up a zero point rig as a test bed to compare benchmark scores. It has to run with stock configuration with sli and single gpu. Any idea with configurations/benchmark program?

if i understand correctly, i think PC World's Worldbench (whatever) assigns a base score of 100 to a certain PC, and everything is based off that, i.e. 200 is twice as fast, 50 is 1/2 speed, etc...

If thats what you mean, i don't like how that system works... :)

Its a good Idea, since you can know how your system compares to the fastest stock PC... Because we are overclockers:D

Who's going to be buying all of these high end rigs every time something new comes out to get a new zero point range?

or maybe keep the zero point rigs around for 6months to one year instead of upgrading everytime something new came out, i guess they wouldnt be the fastest stock rigs for long though.

This sounds like a good idea providing the test rig is always what is considered the top performing stock setup when its refreshed.

Whoever developes the benchmark wouldn't even have to buy new things or w/e. You can simple guesstimate, it won't be entirely accurate but it would be good enough.

it would be nice to have a list of average scores and all so people have an idea of the marks they should be getting, but having a zero point rig provides nothing, i dont need a zero point rig to tell me that my overclocked rig is faster then a stock setup.

Which is why average scores would be nice, but when you use a benchmark long enough, you can get a good idea of whats good and whats not, its just something that comes with experience.
