If you have APIC enabled in the bios in a Win 98 machine, can you just disable the bios setting?

Or do you need to reinstall like XP?

Can you reinstall over the top of the old os or do you have to do a complete fresh one and reinstall all software?

I assume you mean ACPI not APIC...

I believe you can disable and make some changes to the registry file...

I don't think AMD CPU's can use ACPI, so you might as well disable it.

of course they can use ACPI....

Its in the bios!!!
