need 20 pin with the p4 support thingy, my current one is a 20$ psu specs are as fallows:

+3.3: 28a
+5: 30a
+12: 25a
-12: 1.0a
-5: 0.8a
5vsb: 2.5a

this is on a 400watt psu

thing is my cpu v.core always fluctuates, and then my 12 volt line is at 11.51 and when the ram is at 3.1 then the 11.51 goes to 11.31...my budget is about 70 MAX so if you can keep it easy on my pockets, thank you in advance for any help recieved, plz use links to show me... tyvm

Go with Fortron or Sparkle. (They are the same company) For like 80$ you can get a good PSU.

I need a new PSU too...

My whole rig just craps out if I try to OC it with my current PSU...

The problem is, I've noticed a few others here using the same PSU & they manage to get decent OC's out of the rigs (similar setup)...

I'm using an Enermax 460w 20pin PSU (with 20-24pin converter) with these specs:

3.3v = 33a
5v = 33a
12v = 33a...

I don't really pay any attention to the -3.3v, -12v etc as I deem them useless...

I mean, what's up with that?? As soon as I try to raise the HTT of my 3500+ my rig just powers down & then I have to manually re-start it again...

Also, when I try to tighten up the timings on my 2 x 256MB XMS3500 or VX4000 my rig just carks it... I mean when I tighten the timings, set Memtest to run after I save my current settings in the bios & then let Memtest run for a few minutes I can be sure that my rig will just.... DIE...

As there are a few others using the same PSU that I have, it makes me wonder if it is my PSU...

If I'm thread-crapping, let me know & I'll start a new thread... Only joined this one as it seems that I too have a PSU related problem & need a new 24pin PSU...

Any suggestions??

I also recommend a Fortron/Sparkle (FSP Group) PSU although I would also recommend that you get a 24pin one as you might need it sometime soon...
I should've gotten a 24pin when my last one blew up but my problem was that there was no 915/925 or NForce4 rigs around back then...

Cheers,
Minnyboy

Do they sell Tagan psu's in the states? The Tagan 480W would be nice for about $75,-

@Minnyboy: Nice avatar you have :fact:

You can just leave the other 4 hanging off. They have the same layout, just 4 extra were added.

as long as there isnt a capacitor or choke in the way of those 4 pins that are going to hang off.

Everyone should make the extra 4 removeable like OCZ did.. 100% compatable with any 20 or 24 pin board that way.

I wouldn't trust my cooling to Thermal Take, so I especially wouldn't want to have them running my whole computer.

Thermal Take PSU's are worser than their cooling series...
(TT Butterfly), 12v rail on 480Watt psu ----- a low 17A, thumbs down--furthermore, single rail. I dont know if u guys ever come across with this PSU, but back in my place, fraction of noobs into overclocking falls for this sissies PSU..

4 of the pins on the south of the 24pin header. Not the one with brown v-sense line for 3.3V rail. That stays in the mb.

I'm looking at this Vantec to Purchase it also seems to be a little future proof with its features, worth a look at $67. Vantec ION2 460W (http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=370875)
