In an effort to maintain the orderliness of the AMD section, I am requesting that all San Diego overclocking results be placed in this official thread. Please refrain from starting a new thread to highlight your overclocking results. If you feel that your overclocking efforts are beyond average and worthy of an individualized thread, please consider doing so in the Xtreme Overclocking section.

We do not need 1,000 new threads on the same topic. Look at what my San Diego can do!...San Diego 4000+ OC Fun...My San Diego hits 3000MHz on air...Mr. Forum Member's Mega San Diego OC Thread...The San Diego/H2O OC action thread... You get the picture.

If you wish to start a thread with regard to the San Diego core which also includes some other issues, dilemmas, questions, and/or concerns that have not been mentioned elsewhere, please feel free to do so.

Your cooperation with regard to this matter allows for a much more organized and systematic way to share information. Yes, this is a group effort. ;)

I will open this thread as soon as a forum member sends me (or any of the AMD section moderators) a PM stating that he/she is ready to share some results.

RULES FOR POSTING IN THIS THREAD

Picked one of these in Akihabara, Tokyo. It was only 36000 yen so I couldnt refuse.

cpu reads:

ADA3700DAA5BN
CABGE0512XPMW
1230198C50032

The results are as follows:

It does 270x10 on stock volts, and 254x11 on 1.55v on air (zalman CNPS 7000b-cu). My memory wont do 280x10 (its corsair 2x512 xms4400c25p, 275 is the max:() so im happy with 275x10 for now. My super pi times seem a little off, compared to the 3800+ at the same speed but I think that this test dosent rightly reflect the 1mb cache.

Concidering the price this has got to be the best value chip out at the moment, It easy did 2.6ghz (fx55) but has the added value of sse3 instructions as well.

Well obtained a 4000+ San Diego

Seems to run a touch warm on stock cooler, but under an XP-120 and strong fan things are good.

CPU-Z doesn't pick up correct frequency nor does Windows, so I have to use Clock Gen to show freq's

See pics below. Was tasked running other testing for days, so this is first day I've had it in an actual OS ;)

Memory is Mushkin Reline PC4000 btw :toast:

here's one at 1.475 I think

btw clock gen won't set anything else, just locks up with this setup
and sorry, but I can't fit much on screen as I'm working on 5th system and using old ibm 17" crt :(

OH, and don't believe CPU-Z that's only default voltage + 4%!!!

http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=29689

I'd like to take a sec here, and talk about this CPU. With all the uproar about the "cold bug", I'd like to make a couple notes: this CPU is really fast... I ran some 3D last night, no Ricky tweak @ 2880, 430/560 on the x800xl and I beat my OLD "high" by 500 points. The old config included MUCH higher clocks on the GPU, and the SD just SMOKED it. The #1 '01 score above mine is with a Winny at 3100mHz++ and I already beat his Lobbies at only 2880. After playing for a day, I believe it's faster than FX55 clock for clock... no proof, just a feeling I get. Next question is how it will do on single phase change, if it'll do "near" cascade speed, maybe 3500mHz, it'll give the 130nM FX's a run for their money!

got my 4000+ SD this morning.......

stable as a rock right now. don't have any memory to run 1:1 so running with a divider. still smokin fast.....my fx-55 could only do 2860 @ 1.7V and topped out at 50c under load. the 4000+ so far @1.65V is topping at 100 faster and the temp is 10c cooler under load @ 40c. i'll pump some more volts into it to see if it can go faster in a couple of days....so far so good. glad i've sold my fx.

this shot is for Bacchus ;)
j/k but nice to run SuperPi 32M 1:1 memory super tight timings w/Redline 4000 @3.5V, Diego is about 3-5C lower on evap temps compared to my older 4000+ core running same speeds, but of course Diego taking ALOT less voltage at 1.535 vs 1.83 v

I was able to get 3300mhz stable through super pi 32M, was actually a touch slower than my 32xx run as I was runnning 1:1 memory there, and I had to drop memory divider down to explore limits of cpu for my 3300mhz run. Past 3300mhz I haven't had any 32M luck. Might need to really start pushing vcore which I'm a bit leary about. 3300MHz suspected stable is awesome IMO, on a regular single stage phase change setup.

This chip is smoking hot, under load temperature shoot all the way up to 58~60'C and idle at around 36'C, I remount the heatsink twice with the same result, XP-90 is running on its last garlic fried chicken legs so it has got to go, can't wait to receive my single stage phase change to run this puppy on!

BTW, I don't have any problem to run it on any multiplier, it can be 11X, 10X, or 9X.....have the 414-3 BIOS.

Just warming up with 10x270 at 1.55 volts, memory at 245 2-2-2-2 with 3.5 volts. Rest of the specs are in my sig. I'm sure I can get some more out of it...

Temps never go above 40C, except for that damned chipset. Stupid 6800GT is exhausting right into the chipset fan until UPS shows up tomorrow.

Peter:

I am really confused how you managed those temps under load b/c myself, and many others "air-cooled" are seeing much higher temps. I average 45-48C under load and that is only 1.55V @ 2.69ghz.

My chip is a complete POS, it will do 2.75ghz but the machine shuts off for no apparent reason. I assume heat b/c it hovers 48-50C under load :( This is with an Xp-90 and a 92mm Tornado+7 case fans. Ridiculious...

I no case. and the temp under load is:

i've got almost identical results as you. pass occt at 3.17 (fx55 passed occt at 3.16) on vapoLS. i'm on SD3700 with 2x512 twinmoss utt. only difference is that i'm at 5:6 divider and your on 1:1. truly impressive results there.
i was able to pass 32m at 3.2; with your ram, i bet you can get down to 21min or low 22min.
i could really a 13x multi (i miss the fx55) since i'm stuck on the 3.3 rail with dfi (zippy incompatibility)

yep, my vapochill PE modded has a compressor of 159W and it's too small but I try to help the original condenser (my dod) with full of fans, R22 gas helps a little...

the new dod will be better

4kw scroll compressor, a very big condenser and evapo

a friend has a 40kw :p:

I know...I should've condensed things and SS'd multiple benches at once...oh well, shoot me...also forgot to SS my priming on these settings yesterday

Spent most of this evening working on overclocking and doing some WinXP tweaking...not terribly extensive, but it probably helps a little bit...

Used my previously Prime95 tested settings for the benches (passed 4+ hours yesterday before I got bored of messing around with my old computer and stopped it)

1.45 vCore
260x11
1.5-2-2-8 @ 3.4vDimm
OC'd my 6800GT a little up to 420/1150 (probably need to flash up to an Ultra BIOS to get more out of it)

well...without further ado here's some pictures of my progress thus-far

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y220/saiamne/SiSoftSandra.jpg

And a couple barely stable (read: websurfing, no gaming) highest speed Screenshots...got a bit higher than these, however much beyond these Screenies I couldn't even jump around in Firefox

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y220/saiamne/TopCPUZ1.jpg
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y220/saiamne/TopCPUZ2.jpg

I think my 3DMark scores are a little below average...is there any tweaking I should do to improve them?

Without any major memory tweaking the 2860 is about the max my CPU wants to do regardless of vCore...it's happy where I have it now...it wants 1.55v+ into the 2.9's, and 1.6+v just to mess around at 3ghz, past that I did 1.7v but backed down quickly...temps were still good, but I'm really leery of going that high on a 90nm chip regardless of temps (if I remember off the top of my head the 2860 I'm doing 1.3v LDT, and 1.5v Chipset...needed to max those both for the 3ghz)

Would appreciate it if someone could PM me with some memory settings to try out...mostly on "auto" settings right now since they seemed to work better for me than the 2 full settings I tried loading out

Just did some quick testing on a cheapo Gigabyte K8NF9 board while waiting for a new DFI NF4 board to arrive.Stock HSF and stock volts, in an enclosed case with an intake fan, but no exhaust fan! Don't ask!

Using OCZ 3700 Gold rev 3, as no point putting BH6 in this MB.

1.4v is good for 2.7, 1.5v for 2800. I can't wait to get this in my DFI board, and playing in the cold!

I know its not the biggest O/C in the world - but on a stock HSF, priming at 1.4v? I'm impressed!

Ive been fiddling with my chip a lot of late including removing the IHS. My load temps never go over 33c which is awesome. The main thing is this is where I have seemed to max out. I really really want to get this chip benchable at 3ghz but its not gonna let me unless I am totally missing something. here is a pic of some minor test I did this morning. The core voltage is at 1.71 which was for testing reasons. It does this same speed @ 1.61.

I know that it is 100% because if you can play BF2 for hrs without a crash it doesnt get anymore stable then that. If it gets colder out I can get 265*11 without crashes but its near 100F lately and my AC isnt keeping up.

Evening to those who remember me from the old days - Hi Saaya :)

Just got myself a new setup after 2 years away and she is going nicely. 3700+ CABGE 0516MPM with an Ultra-D on default cooling and AS Ceramique and default TIM on chipset.

Seems pretty stable afteer 2 weeks. I can run 250fsb for about 10 mins but then prime fails but this screenie has been running for nearly a week now 24/7 so Im happy until I get some new cooling...possibly one of those xp120 or something....:)

Im still finding all the timings and dividers quite complicated but should learn them all in time. I have been a little selfish and have never strayed from those ram timings in finding my OC....I just cant bear to have loose timings :D The trust Hyperx PC3500 with BH-5 chips are still running strong after 3 years in my hands :)

Anyways, heres a screenie :)

See you around a little more often :)

ps
Look at my sig to see how long its been since I was here.... havt had that system since Jan 2004 ;)

Ok, I'm on my first night of testing so I can't give you anything TOO special.

All at 11x multi
220: No problem for 3 hrs of OCCT Torture
225: No problem 1 hr
230 HTT: Only tested for 25 min, but freq too low for me I wanted to bump up

I ran 240 doing prime and OCCT and it was fine (2.64 GHz)

I tried 243 HTT (2.67 GHz) and OCCT would fail and would need 1.47 volts to get it to work. 2673 MHz @ 1.469 (1.300 * 113%) works fine for OCCT testing.

Here are the images.

Also my redline pc4000 runnin fine at 265mhz and 3,4V

So :banana::banana::banana:ing crap, its 100% stable at 1.48v. but at 2805 mhz it needs 1.64v++
I can do benchmarks as high as 2900 mhz tho, with 1.64v.

What is the highest 24/7 safe voltage? 1.7v maybe ? My cooling is in my sig.
and btw, I'm getting a new DFi so I can run 2x512MB :)

Thats not crappy at all unless your phase changed. Which your not. On air or water that is spot on for that cpu. I run 24/7 @ 2880 1.64v 37c load with wc. I wouldnt complain at all.

Finally after all day of reading threads and testing settings...I finally got it stable! Here are my results. I am very happy with them so far. I also switched to using the 510-1 BIOS and so far it shows good. The voltage on the CPU is at 1.375 + 123%

EDIT: I ran AquaMark3 because I am sick of 3DMark03. No matter what I get Alittle over 20K... Does anyone have any idea on this??? I mean I scored the same thing at 2.2GHz
