In an effort to maintain the orderliness of the AMD section, I am requesting that all Venice overclocking results be placed in this official thread. Please refrain from starting a new thread to highlight your overclocking results. If you feel that your overclocking efforts are beyond average and worthy of an individualized thread, please consider doing so in the Xtreme Overclocking section.

We do not need 1,000 new threads on the same topic. Look at what my Venice can do!...Venice 3200+ OC Fun...My Venice hits 2900MHz on air...Mr. Forum Member's Mega Venice OC Thread...The Venice/H2O OC action thread... You get the picture.

If you wish to start a thread with regard to the Venice core which also includes some other issues, dilemmas, questions, and/or concerns that have not been mentioned elsewhere, please feel free to do so.

Your cooperation with regard to this matter allows for a much more organized and systematic way to share information. Yes, this is a group effort. ;)

I will open this thread as soon as a forum member sends me (or any of the AMD section moderators) a PM stating that he/she is ready to share some results.

RULES FOR POSTING IN THIS THREAD

And @ 2.8GHz ( This is the max I can get i stable )

http://www.home.no/jimramse/Pictures/Venice/Venice%203200+%20311x9%201.5v.JPG

Unstable but could run SiSoft

Here's a max ScreenShot I could get ( Yeah I know, It's not verified )

Gorod:

have u tried priming at those speeds?
maybe its not prime stable

or the chip has reached its limit??

that is why it can't run 3dmark?

I think i found the problem ... Not sure yet but it looks like the new mem. controller doesn't like this :( (had using this setting with Winchester with no problems ) That's real bad for me , cause if i set it to 133 then it's too low , if 166 - it's too high for my Mem ... :dammit: :

JonEapples : I had temps showing right with 1.6 official

Just benched 3DMark2001SE , looks not bad at all for 6800GT ... :woot: :)

Can anyone show any Prime95 screenies here? Are you guys getting 3GHz, priming on phase change?

Yup. Seems they all act pretty similar. 300x10 w/1.55V set in bios:
http://mysite.verizon.net/res6otqr/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/PrimeStable_1.55V.jpg

The next step I tried was 285x11 (3.135 GHz), couldn't get it to Prime with up to 1.81V set in bios. I'll try the middle ground some tonight. Seems like 3GHz on phase is a gimme with these, and they are probably benchable to much higher. SuperPi'ed (1M) OK at 285x11 with 1.65V.

Air results it is!!!

Need to remove HSF to make sure its getting good contact and the AS5 is spread even but I am getting ONLY 2.6ghz from my 0515 3500+ Venice. Thats with stock voltage though. Bumped voltage to 1.55 (10%) and it seems good at 2705, primed an hour with no errors so I'll do more overnight tonight.

P.S. Heatsink is a SilentBoost K8 so its no rocket cooler, hehe. Wish I had a water setup and I am sure I could be running 2.8+ with this one. Temps with Core Center where like 125-135F under prime so I gotta check the HSF contact.

Got this one, cut the IHS off and tested with passive watercooling.

http://mitglied.lycos.de/xxmartin99/A64_3800_CBBLE0513/venice_naked.jpg

Current results:
2600 MHz @ 1.375V
2700 MHz @ 1.475V
2800 MHz @ 1.550V (Prime95 fails after 30 minutes)

Since my Gigabyte K8NXP-SLI only allows to jump from 1.550V to 1.650V in bios, I have got 2.8 GHz only stable at 1.65V.

A little bit disappointed, but it seems that the Venice loves voltage. I will see how far this one goes with 1.65-1.75V on water.

At least I got the 28s with SSE3 Patch in SuperPI 1M. ;)

notice cpu temp and vcore. using xp90 and medium speed panaflo. ambient here is around 68F. been running at this speed for around 8 hours doing light work and interweb stuff. i dont think it has much more in it on air. clocks about exactly the same as the 3200 winny. the sandra memory score seems a little shy. i will flash to a better bios for venice and do clean install, then maybe some stability stuff and 3dmark. maybe a little disappointed after big build up. see what happens after burn-in, etc.
i have never posted photos/screenies etc to forum before so if i am doing anything wrong please let me know.

very truly yours,
politenessman

How about 32M SPi @2.8GHz? This LBBLE 0515GPBW 3200+ seems to be a very good chip.

got my 3500 today :)

LBBLE 0515 FPAW

testing in a DFI Ultra-D (BIOS 3/10p) with 1 Gig of OCZ PC5000 (DFI "special" TCCD) OCZ PS600 PSU with a TT HSF...XP-90C should be here tomorrow ;) (good thing too since its hittn 56C  )

this is only about 1.5 hours of testing but...its P95ing @ 285x10 @ 1.648V (according to CPU-Z)

this set-up couldnt get a 3200 CBBID Winnie stable @ 2.4GHz and now its running @ 2.85GHz (on AIR!!)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

ran 1 hour of P95 @ above settings...no errors....

right now im testing 320x9 (2880MHz)....seems stable (3-4-4-10)

BSOD @ 300x10 (didnt think it would go but had to try)

id thro more Volts @ her, but the temps are too high. we'll see how the XP-90C and a Nado help that ;)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wow, nice chip Joe! Any results from it, or just priming it right now?
i dont have this thing networked so no screen shots (youll have to trust me)

Just received my OEM 3200 Venice from Monarch today :D

ADA3200DAA4BP
LLBLE 0516 EPGW
Z639006D50906

I'm using the XP-90 heatsink with a relatively quiet 90mm fan, and very thin layer of AS5 only, flashed the 414-3 Bios on my DFI Ultra D motherboard and it picked up the Venice on the fly, no time for messing around so I jumped straight to 290 x10 @2.9Ghz with 1.50v, can run a bunch of benchmarks and SuperPI 1M for fun but won't bother to take any screen shots because they mean absolutely nothing to me because it's not 100% stable, so scratch that, load into the BIOS again and lay the hammer down on the vcore and settle on 1.66v, but SuperPI 32M crapped out at "21 finished" then BSOD.

OK, something gotta give right? so I Back it down to 285 x10 (2850) and boost the vcore up to 1.71v, temperature was looking unbelievably good in the BIOS, so I ran the Memtest #5 and #8 for about 30 error-free passes again, then boot into Windows XP, room temperature was around 22'C and cpu temperature idle at 27'C....sweet!!! Fired up the SuperPI 32M and crunch away.......Bingo!! I hit the jackpot :D :D under load temperature is surprisingly low at only 42'C!! :slobber: Unlike the Winchester I had before...this Venice thrives on higher vcore, since 1.71v hasn't put a dent on the under load temperature I'll shoot for 2.9Ghz again with higher vcore, maybe 1.75~1.80v. I can't help but wonder how good is the 3700 San Diego that I'm going to receive from Monarch in a week or so. :D For now I'll settle on a rock solid 2850Ghz @1.71v AIR COOLED!!! and going to watch a movie...this chip rocks!!!!

http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=29723

Edit: I think I better off running 317 x9 @2.853Ghz, this is about as far as I'm willing to run 24/7 till I get my 3700 SD :D :D
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=29734

Another shot at 2.862Ghz:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=29779

This might be what we considered the 'Sweet Spot', only required 1.58v to hit 2.808Ghz on air.

use the latest 24.11 version of Prime95 for real stability (v24.11 is optimized for Athlon64 and therefore tortures the CPU much more than any 23.x code).

Is your memory not capable of 1:1 at 290+? What's it max out at? If you've gotta run a divider, I'd suggest upping the mult instead. My 3800+ loved the 11x mult and got some of it's best marks there. Here's what my 3800+ did @ 290x10 (stock hsf) for comparison:

Max stable at default v-core looks to be 2550. Can boot into windows at 2.6, but can't pass even 1m of super-pi. Right now at 270x10@1.5v :D Running 32m pass right now. Looking for a little more stability then just 1m. If it passes, maybe I might make it to 2.8

EDIT: Here is 32m pass 10x270. Had to up divider (245 is right at the edge for this ram, one stick of twinmoss in sig died) and add a little more voltage. Will shoot for 2.8 tomorrow.

EDIT 2: 10x270@1.58v prime stable about 3 hours, still running. Temp still hasn't reached 40. Using XP-90 and panaflo fan. My winnie with same cooling, would reach 48-49 at about the same voltage.

2934@1.63Vcore isnt 100% stable , long torture session will end in a reboot . I'm gonna prime overnight @1.65 and see if it makes it.
Anything higher ends in a reboot , no matter what Vcore you trow at it . No error no bod just a black screen and a reboot .
Now all i need to learn is DDR overclocking on A64 , there's just so much to tweak ... :<

EDIT: Final update. Highest prime stable is 10x275@1.65v. Tried all the way to 1.7v, couldn't pass prime for more than 10-15 minutes. Looks like 2.7ghz@1.58v is where I'll run, not worth the extra voltage for just 50hz. I have some OCZ platinum rev 2 on the way to replace my twinmoss that died. Hoping for 10x275 or 9x300. This looks to be about average for an EPGW, sadly. I was really hoping for 2.8, especially with an H20 setup; it'll SuperPI at 2.8, but fails Prime instantly, even with 1.7v.

LBBLE0515APAW

Mine seems to be the runt of the litter, cannot go over 2.8 prime

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v729/absolute035/Computer/better-venice-OC.gif
2.8 is fine in windows, stock Vcore set in bios

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v729/absolute035/Computer/2.gif
2.8 will prime for a little bit but will always fail. Using 1.475 Vcore there, it ran for a while but now it seems to fail; it is inconsistent. Over 2.8 will always fail, even if I go over 1.6 Vcore it fails just as fast. Tried memory dividers and they did nothing.

This is annoying me. 2.75 Ghz is prime stable for hours with 1.475 Vcore, but 2.8 Ghz will NOT stabilize in prime for more than a little while, despite using over 1.6 volts. That is such a sudden wall :(
The ram is definitely good for more, i have ultra loose timings and i've tried all the dividers, tried increasing Vdimm and lowering it as well, but 2.8 Ghz will not become prime stable. I think i have one of the worst 3200+ APAWs but 2.75 Ghz with less than 1.5 volts, i shouldn't be complaining.

Dont know steeping or anything but I guess its the one with the L since its a 3800+
Vcore was at 1.625
Cooling is air but I cheated since it was cold out so I put a house fan blowign in my case. room temp was at 20C.
CPU temp maxed at 55C usually around 49C.

Pi pic is my best time and so is 3d mark. iT is stable enough to run those programs. Running 2750 right now, just got done playing counter-stike. I had trouble getting 2.7 stable untill I went to 1.600 volts. I can get more system info if needed.

Just a simple 1M SuperPi shot at 3G for now - prime stability will probably need more volts and better cooling. Waiting for the temps around here to show some mercy !

For the most part I've been with out a decent set of ram since the day after I got this chip over 3 weeks ago. :slap: Since my new set of LEs arrived from OPB on the 1st and then earlier today the 7/2 bios was released I just had to play! I mean after all I've set a WR with this chip but we still haven't got to know each other. :p:

Warmup, since the 0515 APAWs are know for a weak mem controller I just wanted to stress the CPU and not push the ram yet. :p: BTW this is being Air cooled by my XP-90 in my Antec SOHO server case with the door closed. :D

10 x 291 @ 1.55v
http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/4308/291ghz32m12qz.jpg (http://www.imageshack.us)

I was suprised at this result. I did not have to change a single timing. :toast: Lets move on to my final and my personal favorite test, Max 1M time. :D

I could smell a 28 second 1M but I just couldn't pull it off. That should just about wrap it up, the pictures speak for themselfs. If everything goes according to plan I should have a 3000+ 0517 and some RedLine to play with sometime next week. Maybe with some RedLine running at 260MHz+ I'll be able to break the 28 second 1M mark on air so stay tuned!

I took out my 9800pro and poped in an old pci graphics card, it allowed for some better clocking, pc didn't shutdown at 1.65 anymore or 1.7 but i think 1.75 did shut down this is all voltages selected actually is -0.1v, I was able to get it to 3.2ghz before it restarted, didn't get a screeny tho but, On my way there I stoppedd at 2.99ghz for this.
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b275/4rory/wahoo1.jpg
I forget what the ram was at, this is a bad screeny I know but I had to do it twice lol becasue I clicked ok the first time after it was done.\\

Right now I got 18amps on my 12volt line, and 480watts total, Should I go down to 450 watts and 26amps on 12volt line, or should I go up to 520watts and more amps on the 12volt line.

Absolute_0
07-03-2005, 09:34 PM
LOL 13A? wow thats low how many amps does that antec 550wat have? Right now I'm leaning for the 520modstream ocz.

Nice clocks there 4rory. And to think earlier you mentioend that you had a bad memory controller and had to use 1 dimm with max divider to go past 2.9, now you say you hit 3.2! Whatever you changed, excellent improvement, you've got a fine chip.

Yeah, you need something with more amps on the +12V rail. Modstream isn't bad, do you have the money for the 520 powerstream?

Anyhow, to stay relevant, here's my latest
0517 APJW 3000+ @ 2.86 Ghz
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v729/absolute035/My%20Space%20shiat/2.jpg
Now i am officially prime stable here, i have never let it run that long, no patience. Usually i run with less voltage because most of my tasks aren't as demanding as prime95, nothing important on my PC so works fine.

Merlin: could you please tell us where you got this gem from? ewiz is selling the 3000 venice oem for 119$ and free shipping. can you imagine getting lucky and get a week 19th 3000 venice like this for 119$ and hitting 2900+Mhz. i'm tempted to order the 3000 venice from ewiz :).

this chip right here week 19 from ewiz its a 0519DPJW LBBLE and heres the oc so far with a few benchies....

I picked up one of the Venice 3000+ CPUs that was being discussed in the Deals forum. At $115 I figured I could take a chance. I got a YBBLE 0524DPBW.

Early results are okay but not great. I'm SuperPi 32M stable at 2.7ghz on air. I think I'm pretty near the limit because I'm giving it almost 1.7v (1.55+13%) and that's usually where diminishing returns kick in hard. Surprisingly the Thermalright XP-90/Zalamn 92mm combo I'm using seems to be holding the temps at load to a MBM reported 42c.

I'm using the the shipping bios (3-10) on this new Ultra-D mobo and got my OCZ Platinum Rev.2 TCCD out of retirement. Still trying to tweak the settings a bit.

I hand picked this Venice at a PCClub in San Leandro CA. Its a LBBLE 0517GPQW. I swapped out the YBBLE 0524DPBW and put this one in the very same rig. Thank goodness this handpicked CPU outperformed the less expensive one I bought "blind" from E-Wiz, otherwise I would be hitting myself in the head with a hammer right now. Looking good on air.

I just finished leak testing a Swiftech kit and I expect to see a little bump when I get it hooked up with this CPU. Hopefully I'll post results sometime this weekend.

The Winnie in my sig may be looking for a new home soon because my Mach 2 will be mating with this CPU whenever ATI gets their new mobos and video cards out. :)

i got a ADA3000DAA4BP LBBLE 0519DPJW Z649556E 53772 venice from Ewiz. i just got started playing with the cpu and so far im able to run 3d stable at 2470mhz 270x9 2.5-3-3-7 using the stock v-core of 1.36v. ive tested the memory all the way up to 300htt at 2.5-4-4-7 1T 2.7v so now i just need to throw in a divider and see how high the chip will actualy run? i know the meory will run 300htt and i suspect more with a divider so my fingers are crossed for 2900-3000mhz :)

Air cooling is running at a low speed so my ears don't bleed (Venus 12), which is why my temps are getting a bit high. Intend on getting my w/cooling out and strapping it in place again, just need to find time. Also will be strapping my LS to it just to see what it can do with some sub zero cooling.

Ram is woeful, so the system running at 150 divider, but hopefully that will be resolved in the next couple weeks ;) BTW, this is a stable 24/7 system, not a suicide.

Finally got my RAM working at 300 (Super Pi 32M and OCCT stable so far), thanks to the new 623-3 BIOS for the DFI nF4 Ultra-D. CPU is still at the same speed as before, it hates going much higher, the voltage just ramps really after this point.

I should be able to lower the CPU voltage a bit as I had it at 270x10 24h stable at 1.45V before. :)

I know that I can't budge on the 2.5,3,3,8 timings and can't get 1T out of my ram but not sure if the other advanced timings could use some tweaking. I'm getting an XP-90 with panoflo and as5 coming to me, hopefully then I can squeeze a bit more out of it. It's 100% stable in all games/folding@home I throw at it. :D

just oc'ed my 0512 dpbw venice 3000+, to 2.8ghz (well 2799mhz to be exact) with 1.45v, - load temps after 10 hours of prime top out at 41degrees with an xp120 - but cheappy silicone goop until I lapthe heatsink properly at which time as5 will be used. Boosting voltage to1.475 doesnt seem to help to get 2.84 stable, is it worth trying more voltage to see if it can go higher, or would I see only small differences from here. Anyway my ram holds me back (currently on a divider running at 466 at 2.5-3-3-6 timings - but can manage up to about 490 on same timings - result of a mushkin blueline rma - went from utt to mosel chips) an 2.8 is a very nice result anyway, still any advice?

Temps on load are 40°-42° on cpu 60+° on pwmic and 42°-44° on chipset. So here comes the questions :) : Should i remove the heatspreader (i`m a little afraid of it cause i`ve never done it before) and second question what can i do do stop vcore flutuations ? I will put a fan near the pwmic to cool it better, 60+° seem a little high, but now tell me your answers ;)

Your temps are good. If you remove the ihs, I doubt you'll get more than 2-3 degrees better. That's about all I got. The vcore fluctuating a little is normal. As far as pwm temp, mine never gets above 50 -52, but I've seen others with temps in the sixties. Putting a fan over it should bring the temp down. If you do decide to take the ihs off, some acetone will help soften the sealant, and make it easier to cut.

Now I'm running my system at @2651 (2200 default) with this config in bios:

Multi: 11x (Default 11x)
Vcore:1.550 V
Clock: 241 MHZ
DDR CLOCK: 400 MHZ at 3(Tcl)- 4(Trcd)- 4(Trp)- 8(Tras)- 11(Trc)- 16(Trfc)-5 (Trwt)- 3(Twr) 1T------> I don't Know if the Trc,Trfc an the Trwt values are correct because the bios autoset it to 400 MHZ with 2T and i set then to 1 T. What do you think about this? Should i change it?
DDR Volt. 2.80
Chipset Volt: 1.6
HT volt: 1.5
HT multiplier: x4
amd cool n quiet : Off
--------------------------------------->all is stable with superpi and mentest at @2680 and prime fails, but with this configuration prime95 is stable during 5 hours more or less (memtest and superpi o.k.) then crash  .

my results in sandra are :

CPU: between Athlon 53 FX and Atlhon 55 FX-->11100/5425
Memory band...:6750/6650

my temps with my zalman 7000-B CU are:

Idle:43º
Full: 55º
Chipset: 126º fanless

I'm very confused about how i must to do the correct overclock.
What do you think about this config?
At this moment is the most stable config. in performance/stability but I think that is a poor overclock. :(

On the other Hand, clockgen say to me that my system is stable over 2690 but then prime95 fails.

Please post all your opinions and sugestions over this config and others that you think that could be better than this one and what i must to do or not to do...

Please help!!!

Look IHS, it if ends in BW then it's an E6.

Through CPU-Z it should have stepping 2 (F F 2)

well im confused, my MB rates to above a 300HTT but i cant get it past 270 my mem is stable at 2.5-3-3-7 past 230 and the 3000+ is supposed to at least get 2.4, i cant get past 2.2, now the odd thing is that i cant max out everything at one time, BTW im relativly new to this OC thing, and at the settings below i have flashing on the screen, (it will flash black and than go back to normal. i can superpi it just fine so its stable, im confused. No, not really what I meant but that is ok. 2.75@1.5v is good, but your right.. try to get a better fan/hs.

DAMN 1.744 V, YOU GOT SOME BIG ASS BALLS!!!!!!!

1.744 isn't that extreme for watercooling. Now, 1.8 would be. Anyway, nice clocks Gravedigga, that's very impressive for normal watercooling!

:p:  I,m using 1.86V at my MSI Neo2 (venice) at boxed air cooling.

^Ok I guess you're already looking for a new a64?

My E6 0530CPFW does 2.52@1.45, 280x9. Anything higher and it fails prime within a minute. No screens sorry, my mobo suffered a crash during a bios flash.

UPDATE

I also received a E6 3200 and this one is also stuck at 2500mhz. Both my e6 procs are stuck at ~2500.

Is that bragging or exclaiming that the Neo2 is undervolting? If the volts are that high, i would like you see you prime it all day...

9npa ultra. I also just did some testing on the DIMM slots. Slot 2 and 4 max out at ~280 while slots 1 and 3 max out at 303. What a :banana::banana::banana::banana:, ey?

-22C? not really similar :p:
Great CPUs anyway

Mine was going about 2850Mhz @~1.4V on boxed heatsink, not 1:1 tho. After this, it needs about +.25V to get to 3Ghz. Raising voltage past this point is just calling for instability, even if the temp are fine; <40C

LOL its a stock mach1 i think mb5 is off just a few degrees! i always chuckle when i see that -22 on my desktop :D cause i know that unit isnt getting -22c at the core.

so your saying that with that venice you cant give it more then 1.425v or am i missreading? i would think that these venices would handle 1.55v-1.65v depending on you cooling no? plus 3gigs at 1.425v thats a nice chip! id like to see your chip on phasechange i bet it would fly. im aiming for 3200mhz out of this 0521DPMW veince i have. but knowing my luck ill be in the same 2800-3000mhz range i cant seem to bust out of? think i need colder unit that would help! ok man good luck...

No,
1.40V
+0.25V
______
1.65V

No matter what voltage higher after this, it's windows instant freeze, or BSOD :stick:
