Yeah seems Intel's getting its ack handed to itself from every corner.

But dont bet on this to continue ppl, with dual core, you'll be lucky to find AMD in an obscure corner of some Online PC Store marked "Yesterday's Chips" :D ......Unless AMD's dual cores come out within 2 months of Intel's release.

oh Jebus thats funny.
Intel should have just cancelled that event rather than present AMD with an award.

Even Intel is recognizing the performance king :D

:clap:I like how they didn't even put AMD's official logo on the award, just simply Bold Text. They were obviously ashamed:bananal:

Hard to believe, Intel presents AMD with an award. What were the people at Intel thinking? Good way to loose even more business lol

The award was given by the Computer Trade Show, Intel just sponsored the event - read how the Intel lady wouldn't even present the award, she just walked off stage

haha Intel has been 0WN3D! someone hack their homepage and place these pics (if not possible, I'm sure AMD wouldn't mind having them hehe :P )

dual core wont be utilized for at least a couple of months so that gives AMD plenty of time to relase theirs. I think they are comming out in June

Anyway go AMD! :woot:

 oh man that's good stuff.....

I posted it in the forums I used to mod at.........can't wait to see what kind of BS arguements all the intel fans come up with.

Hahaha man that's awesome. Congrats to AMD

As expected in the forums I used to mod this hardcore Intel guy is saying it must be BS, the lady walking off is probably a lie, the photos are photoshopped, the inquirer does nothing but lies...lol.........they can never accept the truth!

As much as I do really like intel gear, I think that Intel Rep should of been a good sport and presented the award to AMD, it just makes Intel look even worse acting like poor losers.

it just makes Intel look even worse acting like poor losers. Yup, especially after being called cheats by the japanese over that antimonopoly law infringement lol

04-13-2005, 07:14 PM
hey, its really, really funny given the zealuousness of competition that has been going on between Intel and AMD, especially recently. And you have to know that if the roles had been reversed, it still would have made the front page, b/c its still funny as heck.

Does anyone have any confirmation that this actually happened except from the article from *the inquierer*. I'm very definitely an AMD fanboy, I just thought it was a joke though.

I dont think Intel would have allowed such awards if there was possibly going to be that result =P

drcrawn
04-13-2005, 09:00 PM
For many reasons, but here is the most logical: did you or anyone else confirm that the story is accurate from any primary sources?

Nubius
04-13-2005, 11:19 PM
I've had numerous people say that those photoshopped seemed a little 'roswell' like lol..all blurry and possibly photoshopped but who knows. I know the inquirer has been known to streth truths but damn a complete blatent lie?

Primary sources? What "primary sources" are there in the computer world? It's all about who you trust, and the Inq didn't report it like a joke - I trust the story to be accurate, it's plausible and the Inq is a reputable site. TBH the pics are too ugly to be fakes :ROTF:

It doesn't matter who wins, as long as consumers get the best gear at the end of the day. The "best gear" is open to interpretation on your individual needs.

AMD would probably respond the same way if Intel won the award at an AMD-sponsored event ;)

Quanticles

AMD cant afford to sponsor events... lol

gundamit

AMD cant afford to sponsor events... lol Hopefully things stay that way. I don't want to end up paying more for a CPU so I can see AMD logo splattered over very event. Their radio spots are bad enough.

We'll see if Intel is really a good sport if they maintain their "Premier sponsor" status at next years show.

BTW - Dual core? Who cares until there are games that can take advantage of them? If you're into servers the dual CPU thing might be exciting. Maybe Intel can throw some money at people to develop a dual core enchanced version of SuperPi or Futuremark benchmarks? That would be awesome and stupid at the same time. :D

I can't wait for dual core, if your into distributed computing projects AND you want to play games AT the same time and have NO slow down in anything, then bring them on P - l - e - a - s - e ! !

Of course having quick as lightening RAM goes hand in hand with it.

I'll wait for Intel's "Presler" version when it comes out Q1 06'. 65Nm fabrication technology. :slobber:

AMD is gonna take the lead for a pretty long while, until Intel smartens up and leaves the Prescott cores.

jjcom
04-17-2005, 10:00 AM
yeah, Prescott is hurting Intel, since it runs hot and the increased pipeline length needs a higher clock speed to show some real preformance. But in dual core, it can't run at a very high speed since it would run too warm. So until Intel releases Presler, there probly won't be any major speed bumps.

I want a dual core just so I can get good D2OL times while playing CS:S =P
