Not sure if this is newsworthy (i certainly think so) but Valve will release a Half Life 2 expansion this summer! It will follow up on the events that took place at the end of the last game and include a new ultra high end graphics level. I certainly cannot wait for that!

Heh, just I'd be willing to buy it, but like always, it will take forever to come out. They said "The Lost Coast", with HDR would be out last week... like usual, late. Hopefully Aftermath will be out before the end of 2008. :(

they are hoping for summer 05, i think it will be out by the end of summer at the latest

Thanks, I'll try to get on there soon enough, just need to machine a few kinks out of my block and I'll have my rig water rig folding again.

According to Valve, the level will require 1GB RAM, a 3.2GHz processor and a top-end graphics card.
That means most ppl here will be able to play lol...but I'm not going to be one of them :( :dammit:

Hmm, I would buy it, HL2 Single-Player was decent, and it left you with a hang, so I would buy it. I don't know if my machine would be able to handle this "superior graphics" level, my video card is kind of showing its age.......

The platform in my rig - PC1, would chew it silky smooth, whooah! can't wait to get my hands on this pack. :)

i dont think that is as bad as Doom 3's recommendation of a 512mb video card for all of the game's highest settings.

not just one extra level, a continuation where the other game left off, the one EXTREME graphics level is an added bonus.

Perkam, with our CPU's overclocked, the sheis tweaked out of our mobos and RAM and graphix card OC'd to their fullest pottential I believe we ALL will be able to play the level :p:
although I don't know with your 9600,..... try to get a 9800pro/XT perhaps? :p:
Btw for people lacking RAM, TWINMOSS is VERY cheap right now and totally owns :woot: :banana: :banana:
Yep, really excited about it. :)
I just hope they include a lot of the oringal things cut from the first game, i want the orginal Half Life enemies, the Hydra.
Some more weapons, the combine sniper rifle, and a OICW would be nice, and carry more ammo/nades.
Also wanna learn more about the story, what happened before, also want more interation with NPC and vehicles, and more boss fights.
