Hello, i have recently been trying to overclock my computer .. specs are :

AMD 64 3000+ @ 2.27ghz (stock 2.0)
K8V SE Deluxe mobo
9800pro
1gb Samsung ram

anywho, i have been successful in overclocking it to a 2.27 but when i try and reach it to a 2.3 it boots up...i log in..and i properties my computer and it tells me its running at 910mhz...it clocks down for some reason..i cant seem to find my multiplier in my bios either..i have searched top to bottom and it is no where...if any of u have any suggestions on what i can do, please help asap.

i have to say u have a really bad mobo there for o/cing. I have the k8v basic here boxed up and can tell u it has no pci/agp locks, so i wouldnt push the fsb much past 220 to be safe that you dont fry your hard drives or sound cards.

You dont really want to down the multiplier cause you cant raise the htt high (due to no pci/agp locks)

You might have throtalling enabled or cool and quite enabled in the bios, if you can find them disable them as they will effect your overclocking.

yea, no agp/pci locks = bad idea for overclocking... you wont fry your equipment but you will corrupt it.. ive done it many times but with an nForce board with faulty locks lol... not very nice :(

go out and get yourself an nFoce board, then we will talk overclocking ;)

but the answer to your question is probably one of the stupid little features like cool and quiet etc..

that sort of looks like cool 'n' quiet as its lowered the speed down

btw how does cool 'n' quiet affect your overclock, i dont see how it limits it

Check that thread out. That's the guide I used to flash my 9800 Pro to XT.

Blencoe pls provide CPUZ shots of our cpu and your ram.

Secondly, you need overclocking components to overclock well. It just doesnt happen with any mobo or any ram, both of which u have are not very reliable.

Thirdly, if you know how to build your own computer, then it would help if you gave us a pic of your processor or read the 13 digit code yourself to us, the one starting with CBBxxxxxxxxxx.

And btw,

 :welcome: Welcome to XtremeSystems, Blencoe !!! :welcome:

Good Luck.
