Windows ME for gaming?

hey guys..

i currently have windows xp pro on my system.

i was wondering, i dont have windows 2k yet so would winME be anygood for gaming???

i really hate the way winXP uses all that crap in the background.
PS- this is online gaming.

No. ME shouldn't be recommended for any use, unless you like the look of blue screens. Just get 2k. Much better than ME, BY FAR!

yup...ME was supposed to be stronger at the time...I killed it by deleting all the DLL files (how old was i....11? :P)

ME is is a great os...If you like blue screens, eroor messages, insecurity, and incompatibility. GO FOR IT

don't forget the odd "Kernal32.dll" errors that would crash your computer with a BSOD as soon as you click on the ok button...grr i hated that OS..

So many of my older clients became customers because they had recently 'upgraded' to ME from Win98.

And they were all pissed off when I had to tell them that they would be upgrading to go back to Win98SE!!!

But at least their $2000 machines were functional again...

WinME is the misbegotten bastard child of the M$ lineup...even BillG admits it.

Go with Win95a if it's the only alternative to Moron's Edition...it is a much more solid OS and has far fewer conflicts!!

Oh,and BTW if you turn off or make Manual most of the things in Admin Tools> Services, your PC will run faster with XP than it will with any other M$ OS.

Really.

It just needs to be tuned and tweaked, just as Linux or any other operating system does, for peak performance.

i'd rather run windows 95(or 98) any day than ME.

ME reminds me too much of 98. at first i thought it was a hacked version of 98.
not that 98 is bad or anything.

Wow everbody shoot down ME but it is on 1 of my 3 pc's and I don't have any problems at all,It took awhile to get used to the look of XP, if you have me more than 512meg's of memory it screws it up. I use 4 sticks of 128mb of rdram walt
