I know y'all have probably heard this before but this is from a spokesperson from Sapphire. Read more here (http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/video/display/20050403012429.html)

Argh, another reason to stick with my 9800 and AGP for a while.

Doesn't it suck? First I wanted to wait for the DFI nF4 motherboards, then I wanted to wait for the Venice/San Diego cores, now I want to wait for the R520.....geez, at this rate I'll never build a new system. Maybe I'll just build the next computer's case and watercooling system and move my current one in, at least that would let me get some use out of this Storm G4. :D

That's how it goes...struggle to stay on top... :D

omg, it's hard to belive that most computers are still using DDR1 and videocards are using DDR4 as of june?? unreal....

Not really, GPUs need bandwidth, latencies aren't as important. Also DDR = cheapo! :)

If anyone noticed, they said:

At peak performance, the GPU can issue 48 billion shader operations per second, it was indicated.

...which is quite an increase in performance seeing as how the X800 architecture could only issue 5.7 vertex shader operations per second(ATI PR). In theory, close to 8x the perf of previous generation in vertex processing, though at peak performance...which could mean a LOT of things  lol.

Not that surprising if R520 theoretically has 32 * 1.3 (supposedly one R520 pipeline vs equals 1.3 "normal" pipeline, so I guess the same goes for vs's) vertex shaders, compared to the 6 of the R420. Add to that the enhanced clock speed.

G70, it's codenamed G70. Oh, and NV48 ofc (the 512Mbit version of NV45).That's however all we know for now, us who are not under any NDA.

D'you think any card based on the R520 will come in an AGP flavour? I don't really feel like buying a new mobo :/

My birthday is in june... if I can sell both my spare CRT's maybe i'll have to treat myself to a new video card as a present.. this 9700 pro is getting a bit long in the tooth ;)

well if you do, atleast upgrade to pci-e!! would be a damn shame to have such a nice card on vga(hence your axp)

These graphics card races are just getting ridiculous. They're releasing it before the the x800 series has even had it's birthday! :D

No, it would run your games very well. Though any benchamrking (the sole purpose of such a cards existence) would be seriously affected by a 3ghz P4.

This thing will need lots of CPU power. perhaps Ricky and Pedro should try out that nice FX of theirs ;)

If this card Graphic card will cost more than $500 then it's not for me, that all what I can say

I must be the only happy guy here. I bought a X800 about 6 months ago, now I get to buy a FX and a R520. I had a feeling the X850 was something to be skipped.

Maybe I'll even get to try SLI on win2K.

Im still happy.

I think an X800XT PE will be fast enough easily for at least a year.
