I am pretty sure that I am going to make a water chiller instead of going for direct die cooling. I like to oc my entire system and running chilled water through my current h20 system seems like I better idea to me. If anyone has links to information on building one or pictures of ones people have made it would really help me a lot. I plan to start something this weekend if everything works out.

It would be great not to have to choose direct die or chiller, but to have them both! Also I will see if I can dig up some links and pics that I have backed up somewhere. I know MrIcee and Oppainter were using chillers before they got prommies and setting all kinds of records as usual.:D

Thats a high school chili pot made of aluminum 10 gallon approximate. iirc Chong puts the water in the freezer without a bucket. I know my freezer can hold water when I had to dethaw it.

I need to update my pics as everything has changed.

I had these handy.

Yeah filling the whole freezer with antireeze/alcohol/liquid of your choice, will help because then you will get direct contact with the evaporator. What kind of temps do you get now?Cpu temps, liquid temps, do you use a pelt etc.

You can also make a heat exchanger for the evporator.Way back when I used a chest freezer, it never worked right, well after i stopped using it I tie strapped copper pipes to the evaporator pipes and that worked much better. You might try that.Although in order to do that I also ripped the sheet metal off the side....
