All right kids - I personally use the Belkin router and things FLY!! but sometimes with heavy traffic you should patch directly into your modem bypassing the router all together, Also from experience DO NOT run kazaa, or any type of online program while playing live - you WILL need all your bandwidth!

Sweet my router is good. What about going through a switch also? Does that matter?

I don't use a switch and you should not need to.

If all i got is a switch, can i use that for Live if i buy another IP address?

ARROW:

yes but why spend $10+ a month on another IP if you can spend $30 on a router and have as many rigs as you want on your single IP.

Comes as a package deal, even if i dont need them, i always have 3 IP's...
And I never have all 3 of my systems turned on at the same time...
So a router is pretty much a waste of cash at the moment if the switch will work perfectly fine... Which i gather it does...

I guess I can swap a comp for a slot on my router for it to use.
