Hi everyone!

I just re-installed my system, and I have this thing I want to get rid of. In the tray, I have the Safely remove hardware icon. When I click it, it asks me if I want to remove my WD Raptor. Of course I don't! Well now, how can I get rid of this, but still allow it to work for USB devices?

Any help appreciated.

It would help if you told us what Windows OS you are referring to.

Sorry, I'm using Windows XP SP2.

I would just leave it ;)

But if you really want to hide it you can do so by:
Right-click on the Taskbar and go Properties
Go to Taskbar tab and Check "hide inactive icons" and go Customize
Find your icon and In Behavior set it to "Always hide"
Hit OK and Apply

It will hide it but you will see arrow in your Tray from now on.

Actually, the dialog is there straight after I install Windows, without any drivers whatsoever.

If u wanna take a walk on the dangerous side, safely remove your raptor drive & see what happens. Maybe it wont do anything.
