I just recently installed my Prometheia with a KD7 and 2700+. I am running it up to 2810Mhz @ 2.15v. My question is when I check my temps after running prime for 1 hr are 20c for cpu, and a crazy 58c for board. If I check the temps in my bios they are
CPU CORE 0 DEG. C
CPU SURFACE 18 DEG. C
SYSTEM 52 DEG. C
The prom is reading a temp of -34
Are these temps correct? Just wanted to make sure that I have good contact on chip.
P.S. I am not running Prime at 2800 Mhz I am running 200 x 13 Max timings core 2.0v DDR 3.05V
Thanks
Nathan

Nathan,

Go out to http://mbm.livewiredev.com/ and download MBM5210. If you've never setup Motherboard Monitor before it has a bit of a learning curve, but worth it. Set one of the sensors to monitor Remote LM90, that will give you your true CPU temp. I also get a 0C from KD7 in the bios, but MBM gives me a true reading of -15C under load.

I have a 2600+ at 1.98v, running 2500 and Prommy gives a -34C reading, so that part looks good.

the reading the promy is giving you is an evap temp...not a core temp.

No ยงยงยงยง! Who ever said it was a core temp. If you read I clearly stated the core temp was 0 C.

Whoa... slow down a little. He probably just misread your post.

Now, are you sure that the case temperature is read from the chipset on the KD7? I know on the AT7-MAX, it is read from down near the bottom PCI slot, and I had consistently high temperatures there due to poor airflow. Try motherboard monitor, as sharpbw said, that will hopefully give you the correct CPU temps.

As far as the board temp reading that high, mine does also. Some people are saying the reading is off, some say it's the location of the probe. I watched mine slowly rise up over 66C until I put a fan to blow on the area around the cpu. This was on a board that was un-cased and in a cold room.

On this -15c reading does MBM show the negative. The reason I ask I just added Sensor 3 to remote LM90 and I show 24C at idle DoI have a problem? The Evap temp was -31.

Yes, I can see a negative in front of the number. But, how about a test....

When you apply a load, does your number go up? i.e. 24C..25C...26C...27C... etc? If it does, your on the positive side of 0C, which does seem very high, and I would think about reseating the Microfreezer.
