Hey s7e9h3n is there any problem with the Central Brain Indetifier?

All your pics of CBI in SSE3 say No support.

Did you have to flash your bios to make the venice core work? also, how old are the bios you are using for the venice core?

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Q: What are the major components being used in the system you are testing this CPU in?
A: A64 3800+ Venice + AMD FX-55 HSF
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum (Bios 1.41mod)
G.Skill 4400LE (2x256MB)
Antec EPS12v True 550 (modded 3.3V, 5.0V, and 12V rails) (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?p=762587#post762587)

Does that help :D

this guy's name seems familiar, wondering if its the same person. If it is, where does he find the time to post in forums?

i cant see why the ceo at AMD wouldnt look at this site, its an abundant market of well educated customers, i would prolly go as far to say the most knowledgeable about pushing the cpu's to thier limit. AMD can use our responces as a sample of what customers as a whole may think of the new cores. :banana4:

Hehe... someone googling too much. ;)

He searched a lil and put together his own AMD CEO ;)

Sorry totally my fault I thought you wanted to know if s7e9h3n had to flash his bios to make the Venice core work? also, how old is the bios he is using for the Venice core?
It was probably too much 4 u to find out date of 1.41 Neo2 Bios thru a simple search, 26/11/2004 (took all of 1 min) so PRESUMING A NF3 board with Bios 3+ months old runs Venice OK I'm pretty sure DFI NF4 Ultra with latest bios would to don't you. :)

rofl. yeah I sorta doubt Hector Ruiz would fill out a public profile on a public forum and put "beer" as his only interest. :p: :toast:

I have a winchester that will boot and run all day at -40c :D and im not joking.

Same here. In fact.. I´ve had 4 of them.. and they all booted right up with -50c on them. Thats why im so sure this is a MOBO/BIOS issue.

These may (or may not, we don't know for sure yet) have second generation strained silicon, known as "DSL" (Dual Stress Liner).

Heh... Well it was a good thing that you explained that acronym for me, because I was thinking I might have to forget the whole concept of human interaction because if a CPU has a nice set of DSL's what else would you need in life?

Somehow I doubt the CEO of AMD would take the time to visit our humble site, and even then I doubt it would be with his real name . . .
No I’m not the ceo of Advanced Micro Devices, we just have similar names.

s7e9h3n: keep posting those screenies with the new motherboard, your efforts make enjoyable reading.

I personally know one well respected executive officer on Wall Street who owns a nice beer-can collection. We all don’t just drink Champaign and 12 year old bourbon you know!

Okay, gentlemen. This is starting to really deviate from the topic. I'm going to lock this up for now, but we'll keep it stickied so that it can easily be referenced if required. s7e9h3n will no longer be conducting any further test on this CPU, so if you have any further inquiries with regard to testing, please refer to the FAQ listed in his first post.

We'll be doing an in-depth review of this CPU shortly, so a new thread will be initiated in due time. ;)

Cheers!
