I got my new G4 waterblock in from morphling1, and its pretty sweet lookin :)

I snapped some pics of it & my Spir@l...it is about the same size as my CPU block, lol.

morphling1...I see you gave me screws w/ o-rings...should I use springs with this setup too? Or just tighten down on the o-rings?

Also, this question's for anyone...what's the easiest way to get rid of the nasty build-up I have inside my Spir@l? You can sorta see it in the pic...green tarnish or something of the sort. I ran tap-water in this system when I had it temporarily setup...but I've had it down for some weeks now, and it developed this buildup while its been apart.

Anyways, I have to remove my current GPU cooler, attach the ramsinks and this shiny new waterblock, and then see if it clocks any better than the 357MHz(vmod'd) that it did on air. Thanks again morphling1! :D

And for the pics: (wish my cam's lense was as good as urs, morphling1)

So you got the block, cool :D
Just tighten the srews, so you squeeze o-ring a little, and you feel the block isn't moving.

That green stuff is oxidized copper. You should be able to take sandpaper to it to get rid of the oxidation. Nice looking block, excellent work Morphling1.

KnightElite,

Thanks for the suggestion...I ended up using tarnish remover...worked like a charm! Here's a better pic of the blocks side-by-side...you can see the G4 block has a little condensation in it right now :)

Thanks for the tips on the mounting of the block, morphling1 ;)

Here's a pic of the card w/ the WB & ramsinks just sitting on it...not attached. I think the clearance between the ramsinks & the barb's might be too close for my 3/4" OD tubing. O well, I'll leave the ramsinks off for now if that's the case :)

Very nice work Morphling1, that base plate looks like it should really do the job.

One thought, ever considered or tried setting the barbs into the block at a 35-45 degree angle? Would allow the use of those ramsinks then (I think).

1/2" Lexan?

Did you test it yet N8 :D
Craig going at angle would be possible, but the top block should be a thicker for threading the holes, but yes it is very much doable

I'ddin't get up my added question in time. Would 1/2" Lexan do the trick for a angled set up?

Or you can do like dangerden and use barb that are angled

Only if I would put 90° elbow fittings on top.

Hey guys. Nope, I'm working on a duallie rig ATM...and possibly buying a new truck, so I've been busy ;)

I will try to get the rig up ASAP :D

WOW, 20mm, now you don't just go down to the local hardware for that.

I think antipop's idea would be easier. But I had the thought that the angled in barbs would perhaps get a bit more turbulance around those little pins.

One question for you N8 on how you cleaned your spiral.

How did you make sure you got all the residue of that metal polish off so you wouldn't have a film left on the metal?

The tarnish remover's bottle said to just rinse it with water, which is what I did. Its a few days later now, and the thing is still shiny as could be. FYI, it was name brand "Tarn-X" :)
