Any ideas if this is normal? I get a very crackly sounding mic when using progs such as TS 2. Can it pick up external interference like a fan sound?

I have a $10 mic from office max. All you hear is crackling on it. Buy a higher quality mic if you don't want the crackling.
Mine would pick up everything, even if the cord moved!

i dont think it is the mic as it works fine using my housemates internal pci sound card.
