Hi everyone!

I'm experiencing problems with my DFI Lanparty nF4 SLI-DR mobo. I have the following config:

AMD Athlon 3500+
2x Gainward GeForce 6800 Ultra
512 MB stick of Kingmax DDR333 RAM
WD Raptor
Floppy
DVD Drive
Enermax EG701 PSU (600W)

And my problem: when I try to install Windows XP, it boots up, the blue screen comes up, says loading the stuff, etc. I press F6 and load the nF4 Storage driver. Then it continues, but as it finishes loading, it just stops and I get a _ flickering at the top of the screen. Can you help me please :stick: ?

Thanks in advance.

Changed the memory and everything seems to be OK now.

More problems:
Installed Windows XP fine, and everything was working OK. Then I decided to install nTune - and when I launched it, it just locked up. So I rebooted my system (by pressing the button), got into Windows and a window came up, saying that nTune failed to set the GPU clock, if I'd like to re-set it. I clicked no. Anyhow the system was working, then I restarted and got back into Windows. Was there, and then a BSOD comes up, and the PC restarts. This time it locks up straight at boot, and I get this screen:
Phoneix BIOS
[Something]
Main CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3500+

Doesn't go further than that. Then I press restart, and it boots up. I come to the PC this morning, and everything repeats - locks up a boot up, but after reset, everything is OK. Any ideas?

Sounds like a basic stability issue.

What RAM are you running?
What BIOS on the DFI?

your ram is only pc2700, and your cpu requires pc3200........i think thats what makes it confused......

try in bios switching to cpc disabled (T2) and newest bios. and give dem a little more voltage.

The RAM is some Samsung TCB0 (or TC80, if any one of those is possible). I'll see how it goes, I have the newest BIOS for the DFI, I'll try 2T.

Youll probably know already but what helped me a lot getting started was:

1 stick in slot 2
at least 3.2v on dram
hook up all 4 powerconnectors to yr board, regardless if you do/dont use SLI
use a 24 pins PSU

Best bios for me: 2.18

Good luck getting it started, the board ROCKS :)

you have VX ram...they love Voltage....but stop at 2.9 without active cooling on normal ram.......
