How to establish a Gamespy Arcade account to play halo and other games online without the use of XBOX Live!
The First step is to go to www.gamespy.com and scroll down to you see on the right hand side ‘’ Download Gamespy Arcade!’’

Once installed and you created your ‘’gamer tag’’ or ‘’user name’’, go to the FILES link at the top of the arcade program.

Once you click that, a new window will appear within Arcade itself. It is in here you will scroll down to find ‘’SOFTWARE’’ under the ‘general’ listing on the left hand side and in there is the ‘’GameSPY (XBOX) TUNNEL Patch’’

You need the Arcade to communicate with the gamespy servers and then the TUNNEL is what allows the two or more XBOX’s to ‘’see each other’’ Think of it as a WAN LiveLink… After you have both parts installed and you launched the program.. now you can go look for rooms to play HALO, Tony Hawk, and other games in!! Now when you look at GameSPY you will see ‘XBOX’ in green letters as an option on the left hand side, click on that, it will launch some advertising – you can always ignore this. And then click on the appropriate game (HALO).

Now just select a room and double click into it and the friendly members will guide you with any passwords or anything you need to do next and what type of game it is, be it CTF, Slayer, King of the hill ETC ETC..
